Axxtion STS SoCal Test Fit for FREE

I just finished machining a couple of Short Throw Shifter's for the TC. These fit under the hood, so they do not change any hardware in the console. They are a true 54% reduction. Installs in 15 minute if you have to remove and reinstall the stock air box which is located above the lever extending out of your transmission. Install time is less if you have a cold air intake. They are made of 7075-T6 aluminum which, pound per pound, is stronger than steel. I'm located near Disneyland, SoCal. If one of you guys is local and want an STS for free for test fitting, hit me up.

thanx

Wait in the engine bay? Hows that work?

User 112921 11-18-2009 11:25 PM

Yeah weird.. Wasn't it always just working straight from the shift boot?

DJ08tC 11-19-2009 12:32 AM

It is probably like the nst ones for the xd, they some how change it from the engine bay

yellowxhoodie 11-19-2009 01:03 AM

the shifter is changed from the inside...
the only thing that would be changed under the engine bay is the shifter cable bushings.

These fit under the hood, so they do not change any hardware in the console. They are a true 54% reduction. The new Axxtion STS for the TC is similar to what I build for the Altima SER shown above. The red anodized part in the center of the picture is what makes this a Short Throw Shifter, not a shortened shifter lever. Because of this design, you can get a much shorter throw than you would by altering the shift lever in the console. Plus, install is like 15 minutes.

Blue_TC_Man 11-23-2009 08:15 PM

so could this be used alongside a conventional STS for a greater shift reduction???

The Axxtion STS can work in conjunction with a console STS. I actually installed one in a 2005 TC that already had a console STS so the shifts were extremely short. Front to Back movement is shorter than the Side To Side. This new Axxtion STS is a true 54% reduction. You might want to consider some of my backstock TRD xB Gen2 STS that are 30% reduction and will also fit your TC. As an example, lets say stock front to back shift distance is 10".

Axxtion STS.............................................10" x 54% reduction = 4.6"

Your current STS......................................10" x 30% reduction = 7"

Your current STS and TRD xB Gen2 STS.........7" x 30% reduction = 4.9"

Your current STS and Axxtion STS................7" x 54% reduction = 3.2"

Length of Throw ÷ 2 = Force To Push Lever x 2

I might have to get one when you release them. I have a 50% reduction shifter now with the 54% that would put me down to 2.3" which would be awesome on the track

axxtion 11-24-2009 08:05 PM

they're ready to ship.

email me at axxtion@hotmail.com

Shortest throw and lowest price of any production short throw shifter made in USA

elcapetan 11-24-2009 08:28 PM

how much are they?

HKSpeed 11-24-2009 08:45 PM

how much for the xb2 30% STS and the tC 54% STS?

does this make the shifting action feel more notchier (greater resistance going in/out of gears, which I notice with console shifters)?

Has any one tried this out yet? Im trying to find one to buy and im also trying to find what it looks like. Is it just a washer on the linkage or something i dont really understand how it works? Also how much do these run? I emailed Asstion lets see if i get a reply.

those who tried it claimed to have difficult times shifting. it used less of the counter weight to shift by mounting higher above the lowest point.

Thats weird because i haven't found anything bad about this yet. Has any one else tried one?

sdsnybny 12-15-2011 05:08 PM

Although I drive a Gen1 xB I love this piece on my car. Here is some good shots of the product and where it fits on an xB it moves the pivot point closer in on the shift linkage arm. It feels stiffer or as some described "Notchy" but I have had mine for almost 2 years with no problems.

So would it be kind of like slipping into gears without using the clutch when shifting? And what do you mean everyone got used to it? A couple of people just got used to it and now like it? I think im just going to try it out and if i dont like it any body interested in sloppy seconds lol?

Email from Axxtion
$70.00 USD which includes shipping within the US.

I've been wanting to get one of these also. If it turns out you don't like it, I will take it off your hands. I've also done lots of research and found mostly positive reactions to this product.

Alvarado.e09 12-16-2011 05:30 PM

Yeah me too. 70.00 Dollars isnt much to test out a new shifter.
