Default Best option for bad Tranny: Rebuild or replace?

Hi Guys,

For a bad automatic transmission what's the best solution?

Rebuild it or buy a used one with a 1 yr warranty?

Or other?

Thank you for any tips or advice.

Umm....well, what's the cost differential? How much is a rebuild vs how much is a used one?

The third option was "or other?" I suppose the only real other option is if you are taking the transmission off the car anyways, you could always swap to a manual, if you do that though, get an E351 trans from a Camry, taller gearing

Honestly good excuse to swap to a manual But if you have to stay with auto, Id just get a replacement no real advantage to rebuilding.

never thought you would say such a thing. he could gain knowledge, experience, and the most important thing of them all, the confidence to perform.

Baahahahahahahha, I was asked to ignore this thread.

It depends on whether or not the rebuild comes with a warranty or not. But hey, you wanted me to ignore this thread because you're an idiot. Your loss.

Spicy_McHaggiz can't fathom basic English.

All his advice is wrong .

He's simply an angry little man, here for the wrong reasons- never listen to him.

The warranty part was wrong?

Have you asked the advice of a professional?
I know the dealerships are all evil...so you will probably go to Bob's House of Pancakes and Transmissions...
What is the cost difference?
What kind of warranty comes with?
