Default Clutch & Flywheel Boost

So I'm going to get Clutch Flywheel and I'm going to boost sometime next year but I'm not to sure on what I should go with. I'm wanting to be at 300 whp. So what cluch flywheel should I go with I'm thinking about a 9lbs flywheel but not sure who I should go with...

What do you guys think?

well depends on what you use your scion for.....for a DD a 12lbflywheel is more suitable..if your doing auto crossing and drag racing then a 9 lb will be fine...some use 9lb for a DD...

i have a act street clutch along with a competition 12lb flywheel....

i've daily driven my tc for years with the 9.5 flywheel. initially it is a little tough to get used to. but after a while, you completely forget the difference.

Im going to be using it as a DD but ill take it out to the track sometimes. I think a 9.5 would be good for me. I just want to see what you guys are using so i can get something that isnt going to give out in a year. what brand clutch and flywheel should i go with who is good

act, excedy, clutchmasters (just not stage 4), will all be good. and the best part about having a 9 pound flywheel is having someone else try and drive your car and you get to laugh lol

So I should get a act, excedy, or clutchmaster stage 3 clutch and I want a 9.5 flywheel who do I go with and will it match up with any act, excedy or clutchmaster cluch? I'm just going to take it to a shop and let someone install it.

I completely agree. But it also upsets me as well. And the wife just asked why does it upset me? Cause it isn't good for the drive train to drastically just stop. THATS WHY!!!!

I have an 11 pound FW and a six puck ACT clutch. I have 300hp and it holds quite well. The only thing i can say is that in traffic it sucks. It takes some time to get use to the engagement. It isn't too bad.

how isnt it good for the drive train? what do you mean drastically just stop? And I don't think the change in engagement is going to bug me to bad i think it will be fun leaning something new. I wish I could try out your guys car to see what one felt best.

if your car is just idling, you're at about 700 rpm's. and then you go to engage into first, and it stalls, and goes from 700 rpms to 0 in less than half a second. thats the drastically stop thing.

as long as you have a clutch for the scion tc and a flywheel for the scion tc. it'll work (1st gen that is too.)

i actually got my flywheel off ebay (it's a fidanza, not a no name brand) for about 100 cheaper than retail. but they have exedy clutch and flywheel kits on ebay that you can get too. and when you get a clutch it'll come with everything you need. except the flywheel. that's seperate.

I looked on ebay and i didnt find much only like 1 maybe 2 clutches to pick from.

So i have read that F1 clutches are nothing but problems but the Flywheels are okay.

So ill get a 9.5 F1 Flywheel off ebay and i dont know where i should get the clutch and who i should go with yet? I need some help.

Also does anyone know about how much a shop is going to charge me?
