I just received my new green header and it looks awesome. I feel like I read somewhere on one of the two threads where copper RTV should be applied to the header-side of the gasket attached to the head. Has anyone else done this or read it?

You CAN do that if you'd like. It will help promote a good seal, however you will be fine with just the factory gasket as well.

Stupid question but what type of RTV? I'm trying to install this weekend with an OEM gasket. I test fitted the OEM s-pipe gasket and there is movement. Seems to be a few millimeters too big.

tC1. I assume it will be the copper RTV. It's the little things I am not sure about sometimes!

I was attempting to change my header today but ran into a few very minor issues. Does anybody now what size socket to use for the O2 sensor? It seems to be nearly 1" wide. Also, how did everyone get to the bolt on the bottom left near the alternator? I have a plan and it probably will work but wanted to see how others handled it. Thanks for the input.

should be a 15/16, so yea close to 1 inch wide for the O2 sensor. It's been a while since I've messed with the header so I couldn't tell ya about the bottom bolt.

There is a special O2 socket you would need to use.

That bottom left bolt can be gotten with a self-ratcheting box wrench.

So just an 15/16 O2 socket. I can grab one from Harbor Freight more than likely. Last piece of the puzzle solved. Thanks.

Don't hesitate! Get one. I had mine for about a year now and the car performs great. Only problem is in Califonia it is still considered illegal, so I have to swap it out when I get my smog.

I want one for my tc 2. But damn California smog laws anyone know if the fatted headers would require any modifications or is it a oem fit ?

Should fit direct to oem standards, at least mine did for the Gen1 tC. Installelled real quick at home. Have to get new nuts for the spring bolts since the header does not have them like the oem header.
