EVAP System Purge Valve

I noticed that the "blow-off" sound comes from here and noticed it said something about venting at 1 psi. I can hear it a lot better now that I installed my CAI. Is there a replacement for it? I'd like to find something that is adjustable and could be made to have less or more sound. How would this affect performance(not looking for a 30hp gain...just wondering about the performance of the VSV)? If you haven't noticed it yet, its the green cap on the VSV.

Thanks,
Steve

That is not a blow off valve. A blow off valve is only on Turboed cars. What you are refering to is indeed the EVAP sensor but it does not function in that way. Probably is used to keep moister (water) out of the engine.
The reason you can hear it better with your CAI is the thing was originally hitting against a rubber thing on the stock air box, now its attached to a metal bracket on the CAI, Which amplifies the sound. If you hear a kind of whistle sound when you step on the gas, that is just the sound of the air being taken in by the intake
