Your throwing a P420 for removing the cat in your stock headers. You can use spark plug non-foulers to trick the system. Above is a write up for a prelude it should be the same though. Just bring your secondary 02 sensor to the auto store to make sure you get the right thread size spark plug non-fouler (I think they are available in different thread pitches).

SEARCH!!!!!!!! This is probly the 2nd or 3rd most problem or question on this site.

You have a CEL because you eliminated the catalytic converter on the vehicle. (main one anyways) To remedy this you a spark plug "anti-fouler", if you do a proper search you will find the exact size in which you need.

Also, you have a HEADER, not headers.

I don't think yelling at the kid to search or correcting some stupid gramatical nuance is really necessary. He is obviously new and is just looking for some advice.

XB error code P420 Help!!!
I need a OEM or Stock Catalytic Converter for my 05 XB. I've tried the magnaflow cat and the VSC, Trac Off and Check Engine light are still on. Appearantly there isn't enough platinum in the Magnaflow to fully keep the lights from returning and correcting the problem. I'm in VA and need to pass Emissions. Any suggestions?

this is why you don't buy headers

I don't think he's being over aggressive at all.

These are topics that can be easily found by googling or searching on the numerous scion tC sites.

The people who come on and post in forums without searching simply want to be spoon fed the answers. I literally googled "Check Engine Light with Header in Scion tC" and found the answer within 5 minutes.

Searching doesn't even require a good grasp on automotive knowledge. He knows he has a CEL. He knows he just installed a header. Not that hard to search.
