header heat and s/c
hey there... i did a search and didnt really come up with anything. so i got WR Header and they were already Jet hot coated. everythign was new when i got it so i put them on and now im scared about the heat messing up my s/c. is it a good idea to still use header wrap on a coated header or can someone show me where i can get a aftermarket heat shield that will fit . thanks for looking.
i don't believe anyone makes an aftermarket heat shield. as far as wrapping it, if it's ceramic, you can't wrap it.
and yes, an aftermarket header gets extremely hot. it could possibly do something in time to your s/c, and toyota probably won't cover it.

Use the header wrap and wrap the shaft onthe SC......probably not a perfect solution but it will keep the shaft from gettign hot and busting your seals.....seen it done on a few SC motors now like that.

ok im going to wrap what i can this weekend. stupid thing is that i haev the header installed already thinking that the jet hot will be enough. it might be enough but im paranoid about the heat on the s/c. thanks for all the replies.
