So I have done a little digging and I know the difference between a 4-2-1 header and a 4-1 header with the different gains. What I am wondering (and couldn't find) is if there is a difference in sound or power in different 4-1 designs for these two headers? I am mainly talking about the position of where the pipes join together from 4 into 1.

 

4-2-1 will always make more power and torque..
4-1 headers are not even heard of anymore for people who want to make power..

Mosly the 4-1 headers are for the ebayers..

 

the 2nd one looks like Alphawerks + DME header, which is a lot better than the megan header.

 

any reason no one's made an equal length header for our car?
