How to identify 2th Gen 2AZ ?

Default How to identify 2th Gen 2AZ ?

Hello, I would like to know how to identify Gen II 2AZ-FE from the external of engine.

if they are stock and in the car, I think the only visual differences are the headers?
the revised headers curve up before going down under the engine, the original ones don't do this. the heat shield also has different cutouts.

2005-2006


2007-2010


also, the MAF sensor on the intake of the revised is smaller and has metal mount points, the original is all plastic and bigger...

Thanks you for good information. I'm about to get a new engine and seller said it was from Toyota Alphard but haven't seen an real engine yet and planning to go to shop soon for inspect the model before make a purchase. Thanks

You should also be able to verify the car it came form by the VIN. You should be able to use that to figure out the model year and then the version of the 2AZ.

Thanks you, Too bad no VIN available because previous owner just came to shop to drop other engine in then leave the old 2AZ for very long time ago.

Here I just goes to see the engine and it's just a long block no exhaust manifold. I only got these information. Seem like it's a 1st gen.
