Default How Much HP Can The 2AZ-FE Take Stock?

Does anyone have any experience on how much HP the 2AZ-FE can handle?
Has anyone heard of someone blowing the lower end out?

And at how many HP on the stock motor?

typically ppl dont push more than 350 on stock internals.
most people stay between 280-300 just to be safe.

There is no "rock solid" info.
This is the same thing as someone posting, "how long will my stock shocks last if i have aftermarket spring?"

There is no definite answer we can give you.
It all depends on how you drive, how accurate your tune is, blah blah blah..

The only "rock solid" info is what has been compiled over the years through trial and error by many Scion owners.

The best recommendation I can give you is to just keep searching through threads on here and come to your own consensus.

PTuning was running around 350WHP (400-425WHP on a DynoJet) for a while in their Time Attack tC and the motor just gradually began to break down. It only lasted a few thousand miles of nothing but constant racing.

300-325 is a safe area, as long as the tune is good. 350-400 and you better be saving up for a rebuild.

if you push the limits than you should expect to have a tow truck on a call.

you gotta pay to play man.

you want numbers, and basically everyone whos posted in here so far has told you to stay around 300.

what do you use the car for?
DD?
Drag Racing?
AutoXing?

Also, when the lower end goes, what usually fails in the 2azfe?

From your mod list, expect the intake manifold to be the first thing to go. It's not very nitrous friendly.

Anyway heres the deal, im at 218whp on s/c only, im at 268whp on a 50 shot of forced nitrous, this is with the 9.5 pulley.

So i scored a 12.5 psi pulley the other day..............

Here's what im thinking about doing....

Putting the new s/c pulley on, my tuner says i should dyno around 250-260whp on s/c only (With a booster pump),
Taking OFF the lightweight CS pulley, and putting back on the stock CS pulley w/ the balancer

NOW, as for the 2nd MAP, the Nitrous........

I would LIKE it to handle the 50 shot jets, the extra boost makes the nitrous shot even more potent yet, around 60 shot @ 9.5psi, so 12.5psi = ? 65-70?

So my question to you all is....

Do i need to bump the Nitrous jets down to like a 35 which will perform like a 45-50?

Im torn, plz help

Well as far as my experience in building these cars 400-420whp is the breaking point of the rods whether its on a good tune or not (just the sheer physical limitations of the stock rods) pistons, head, head gasket and whatever else should be fine with a proper tune. As for the nitrous, it carries a different characteristic when coupled with forced induction rather then NA... Up to about a 50 shot is really more of a cooling factor to the intake charge and when set up as a wet shot will actually make force induced cars run with less knock. So with that said, as long as you have a competent tuner you should be well within the safety zone.
