Default I need help picking out an Exhaust!

Hey guys, I've been pondering about which exhaust I should purchase for about a month now. I just cant decide on what I want, I thought possibly the greddy RS, but then changed my mind to getting the Agency Cat-Back, I then starting to like the HKS but then changed my mind again. I want a really loud deep sounding exhaust. Out of all of them I am leaning more towards Agency. Also thinking about getting megan headers too possibly. If you guys could give me some feedback that would be great!

From what I've heard from the tc guys, if you get a header, be prepared for rasp.

With the header in mind, I would get a nice mild axle back.

headers just make it sound like crap unless you got a really good way to make it sound not raspy. tsudo n1 catback period

Header=rasp. Unless you get one that's with a high flow catalytic converter, which would be by Dezod, which cuts down on it. If you go with any other header then you'll want to add another resonator on the mid-pipe, there's already enough info on length and if you want to run one or two, search.

does descendant make an axle back for the tc1? I only ask because the descendant exhausts tend to use fairly large resonators as opposed to giant, empty cans.

No axle back, I wish they did though and something that was N/A friendly.

Basically set for turbo applications. Listed "sold out", wonder why.

You won't get a resonator with an axleback, as it's under the front seats.

Rasp is usually created when the restriction is forward.

A rule of thumb for exhaust from my hotrod background:
A muffler further back on the exhaust will give a deeper sound, further forward will be raspy
A larger muffler will usually give a deeper tone, while a smaller one will usually be raspy. That's a reason our cars came with such large mufflers.

Part of the reason our tC's come with the resonator and muffler the size and position they are, is because of the sound tuned for.

The exhaust parts for sale have countless variables to account for: short or long intake, header or not, emissions-legal or not, stock resonator or not...

If you want a louder exhaust, I hear Strup has good sound, and EXCELLENT build quality. Their headers are showpieces. I had one for my xA & it was a shame it was hidden behind the motor...

As a remotely-related comparison,
my xA had an Injen RD intake, Strup header, and either original DC Sports or Supertrapp muffler. It was never raspy.
I tuned the exhaust with the Supertrapp discs.

Im running a Weapon R header/spipe, and a megan catback. Its loud and its raspy, but dnt buy into that crap about rasp being rice..The megan midpipe has a prebuilt resonator so all you have to do is maybe get 1 or 2 more welded in and you should have little to very little rasp. Or you can start off with just a megan midpipe and then go from there. It sounds amazing for only a midpipe(no rasp at all). Heres a great diy from tC_H4V0K on cstc. http://clubsciontc.com/forums/diy-in...install-47499/

Default headers

I put headers and down pipe on my TC and with the cat back exhaust I have on it the thing sounded cool as hell, like Kenny Blocks rally car LOL. It was to loud for me though so I took off the headers and down pipes and put back on my cat. If you want a super loud, cool sounding note from your engine go with the cat, down pipe and cat back exhaust.

I actually did it for function more than form, but I cut my factory muffler off.
1) the factory muffler is heavy
2) the factory muffler is restrictive
3) it's the cheapest exhaust I know of -free!

It isn't nearly as loud as you might think it is.
I have a short intake on the other end.
I wanted to keep the diameter of the exhaust tubing to the normal size to keep the velocity of the exhaust gasses, and keep some back pressure.
It's not loud enough to irritate my wife, or officer friendly...

In the future, I'm considering removing the resonator, and using a Supertrapp.
I've used a Supertrapp before, on my xA, tuned it for power, and I was hugely impressed.
And, it wasn't the same 4" fart can exhaust tip everybody else has.

The Tanabe Concept G looks and sounds amazing. From what I hear, the Dezod catted header is THE way to go to mostly eliminate rasp! Of course every setup is different but there are some videos on here. I now have the PTuning Axle Back for N/A and I have to say it is freaking awesome looking and sounding! High quality piece.

The OEM muffler is big so it can allow better flow with more sound deadening. I think the megan cat back drift series sounds great (oem header, oem midpipe). I didn't hear any rasp, and it wasn't too loud.

Picking an exhaust is all on you man. From what your saying you it seems your just more into the sound. We really can't help you when your the one making the decision. There are tons of videos on youtube. Even though some don't sound close to actually hearing it in person it should give you an idea.

I have a TRD axleback and a tsudo midpipe, I love the sound.

Nice rumble at idle/cruising, pretty deep and loud if you jump on it.
