Obviously make them fix it and give you something free for the inconvenience.

it is worrisome that techs who goto school........get a certificate.......get ASE training on every area and extended training classes all the time still can screw up installing parts in a shop,I meen if you learned how you just have to repeat it the next time.

Diagnosing things is hard as it tends to be hit or miss, but once you have aknown issue it is easy as following directions from a manual.......really is worrisome.

hope they get you unleaking soon.......

awesome. So i drop the car off today and they tell me that its 57 bucks to inspect if its not under warranty. and Not under warranty is if its related to a modification of mine, damage from road debris, or if another dealership screwed it up. I'm like ... what? how does that work. I have a warranty, i used it, and now that another dealer touched my car its void? wtf. I don't get work done at dealers because I like their work, i do it cuz its free. I bought this freakin car mainly for its warranty, otherwise I'd be driving an 11 second 90's civic right now. This is bogus, if this isn't gonna get done for free im gonna tear someone a new one. Whats the number for scion headquarters or w.e again?

Yeah you need to let them know yo are putting in a call to Scion........if a dealership did warrenty work on the car and it now has a related issue to that work then that is still gonna be a warrenty issue.........some days you just have to be nasty to them........get the dealership on the phone that did the original work and get the dealership on the phone with them and let them fight it out.

That does not make sense... Toyota/Scion provide the warranty and the dealer has to honor it. It does not matter if you buy the car from that dealer or if another dealer has done work on the car.

EDIT: Make sure you have all of your paperwork handy when you put the call in!

They might argue that their shop didn't do this work, and that they're not personally liable for paying for some other dealerships screw up.

Toyota/Scion should have to get into this to pay, but they could argue it wasn't their fault from the factory. Most of the time I've seen dealerships bill toyota for the warranty work caused by another dealer. Just to be good to the customer. You should definitely let Scion know whats going on.

im about to flip sh$t on them. Just called them and they said my car hasn't been in the shop yet. I had an appointment for 7:30 in the morning, 6 and a half hours later and they haven't even looked at the car yet? Are you effing kidding me? I need my car for work tomorrow and I have Munch throwing on my new suspension tm. I'm calling Scion if they tell me they didn't have time to fix the leak today. I had my tranny dropped, pressure plate and throw out bearing replaced in like 5 hours at Daytona Toyota, they can't even inspect, let alone fix, a simple leak in 6 hours here. wtf is going on.

sounds like they don't want to have to pay this out of their warranty fund, and then see if toyota/scion would reimburse them. So that's why they never looked at it, waitin for approval first. It's all about the money with them. As long as they get theirs, who cares if the customer is satisfied.

I really wonder how long customers will put up with this before leaving Toyota for good. and in this economy they (Toyota) can't afford to lose customers.
