Default Important ZPI preorder info........PLEASE READ

We just wanted to speak to our customers to clear up any misconception and to keep you posted on the following weeks activities.

We will be accepting pre-order through the end of the month after. After June 30th they are retail pricing. We will have the first batch shipped out by our target date of July, 5th. All preorders will come with a free external wastegate at this time they are Tial but this could change in the next week or so. Some other items have changed as well. On the final kits we will only offer Black Chrome piping and Polished. We stated before we would do red and blue but this is not working for us. If you chose red or blue and have not been contacted yet please call the shop and inform us what you would like it changed to. If it is imperative that you have a diffrent color please call us and we see what we can work out on an individual basis.

We will call all customers prior to there kit shipping our to insure all is the same as it was when you ordered it address, BOV, etc……The first shipment will be 15 kits and then 15 should follow every 7-10days until we are caught up. We will then pre build them so they can ship out pronto upon ordering them. If you preorder today you are still looking at approx... A month before you will get your kit. These kits will be shipped on a first ordered basis as they have been waiting the longest.

We also need to know what you our customers who have ordered the optional external would like to do with your credit. Most that have called already have applied it to gauges, clutch etc… Let us know what you would like to do sp that if you want more parts we can get them out to you.

The instruction manual is really the last big piece that we need to finish and we will post this in PDF format on our site instead of printing one. We feel this is the easiest way for us and you as the end installer. There will also be a Q and A page for typical questions as they come in to try to help you with this install. We also are available to walk you through any step of the install just give us a call.

I am not sure if I have covered everything but I think I have. I would like to keep this thread for customers and future customers only. If you have any questions please post them up and we will try to answer them as soon as possible.

Anyone still wishing to take advantage of the pre order discount can call the shop or purchase it online at:

www.thescionstore.com
www.racingsolution.com ...offical ZPI dealer

Mods: Could we please make sure that this post stays on topic as we feel this info is very valuable to our customers and they need to be able to use this forum as intended and not defending us or their actions.

Thanks

Kenny

When you ship, do you have a set amount of each stage that will ship within the 15? For instance, first batch will include 5 of stage 0, 5 of stage 1, and 5 of stage 2.

No they will be the fist 15 ordered, we may be able to get out 20-25 but we do not want to promise what we can't deliver.

The second batch will not be that far behind the first. We just wanted everyone to be on the same page and know what to expect, we did not want anyone to be mislead in anyway shape or form.

Do you maybe have a list of where everybody stands in the queue? I ordered awhile ago and am paid in full, but dont know if I was one of the first 15

Also I requested polished piping and will probably stay with that decision, but do you have any pics of the black chrome? Im curious how that looks.

Yes the turbo comes with a one year warranty
The manifold on stage 0 and 1 come with a lifetime warranty against cracking a defects.
The stage 2 tubular manifold will come with a 5 year warranty

The warranty is only good for the intial buyer and the kit must be purchased from an Offical ZPI dealer. We will be updating our site shortly to let you know who these dealers are.

Do you guys have any plans to introduce an equal length manifold?

What’s the big deal about an equal length manifold? This is a turbo setup you will NEVER have negative reverberation wave port scavenging like in a tuned length header. The only benefits are:

If this was a large cam or VTEC engine with near 300 degrees of exhaust while on the big lobe then yes an equal length manifold will give you some better flow isolation till the collector. This is a stock Camry read that as maybe a 220 degree cam.

If this was a 600 WHP engine, then yes the more isolated and channeled the flow before the turbo the better. As we are talking nearly 4 times the HP as the stock engine was meant to flow.

If we are talking bling.. yep equal length tube of snakes looks real good.

Now if we are talking street cars with pump gas and 10 PSI of boost. Um you ain’t going to see much I know I know the equal length “look” like the flow so well and channel the flow to the collector so well. But we are really dealing with a pressure pulse wave in a semi-enclosed container so really 90 degree bends etc don’t mean much. You really need to be looking at a much bigger cam profile and a much higher RPM range to start seeing BIG payback for a equal length well channeled manifold.

I would rather have a cast iron one that I know won’t bust, is quiet, and has some channeling of flow, but logs are OK and I’ll bet you will be HARD pressed to find anywhere in this wonderful world of the internet of a dyno rum log vs smooth flow equal length tube manifold yield much gains on a Camry type cam sub 10 PSI setup. I have personally done a few conversions form log to smooth tube of snakes on street cars and have seen NO results other then a perceived slower spool of the new larger more expensive tube of snakes manifolds, and um lots of increase underhood heat.

Now racing, big boost, big cam, big RPM, big turbo… I ain’t got a clue.

I have dyno proving the advantages of a tubular equal length versus a 2+2 divided tubular equal length on a divided t4 housing showing that the divided manifold design produces considerably more power and a huge jump in spool.

I will do some research and hopefully find some log vs. tubular vs. equal length tubular and post back.

I can't believe you're trying to make this argument. I would take a tubular manifold over a log style anyday. Just the fact that when I'm ready do want to turrn the boost up and get more power I wouldn't have to redisign the entire turbo system is reason enough for me.

Making such a claim makes me wonder if you are somehow associated with ZPI, cause that whole post sounded like a sales pitch.

Our stage 2 kit comes with a equal length tubular manifold. This manifold can be added to any of the other stages at a TBD price. We are not done with this manifold design yet but it will be compatiable with the current intercooler piping.

well yes, I agree if you are going cam, heads, full fuel injection sooner or later then buy a turbo header. Cant’ you read where I said I don’t got a clue on high boost, high RPM, race setups?

It is not me making the argument for a simple log or semi log manifold, find me an OEM that has a tube of snakes setup. Obviously the OEM thinks, underhood heat, reliability etc far out ways any benefit of a turbo header. Obviously most know long term vendors of turbo kits: Drag, Greddy, HKS, FMax / turbonetics, et al feel that cost, reliability, bang for the buck leans heavily to a cast and or log type manifold (FMax as well as most Euro tuners).

Like I said find me a dyno run, I have direct experiment with numerous conversions of older log manifolds to new style tube of snakes and found no performance with a small cam low PSI street setup. I await any dyno run that shows otherwise.

Oh and I knew ZPI was going to offer a header for the turbo so um if it was a pitch then I would have pitched the far more expensive turbo header. I'm a realist and $2400 is going to get me 230+ WHP, and say $600 to $1200 for a turbo header is going to add a whole lot heat and give my setup NOTHING.

OEM??? The OEM market is all about making as much money as possible while spending as little as possible. This is where the aftermarket comes in, performance is top priority, you have to pay to play. You don't see people buying OEM exhausts or Air Filters to put on their cars as upgrades, it's like going backwards.

In your original argument, you wanted to know what was the "big deal" with an equal length manifold. Ask that to anybody out there trying to get more power out of there log style manifold.

The point I'm trying to make is if you put a kit on your car that uses log manifold, you better be strong enough to fight off the "Mod gods" or end up having to spend more money rebuilding your entire setup. Trust me getting beat at the track by your buddies, while exciting, is no fun.

This manifold might be fine for you "oldman" but us young guys still love loud music and fast cars.

Oldman, you're still not getting the point, if AGPturbo????, "who the hell are they?" used a tubular manifold with everything else being equal they would be getting a lot more power.

If this was true then why are your buddies at ZPI offering a kit with tubular manifild as an "UPGRADE"?

Lets take the manifold argument in another thread and allow this to stay as intended.

The regular pricing is $3000.00

Pre order pricing is $2400.00
