sensay-that's the whole point. u get to pick what u want to buy. if u don't like the aem battery thing and think it's a waste of money, don't buy it. i don't buy stuff i don't like. it's not always necessary to buy something just so u can say that u bought something. companies make parts cuz they think people out there will like and buy them. but, they realize that not everyone is going to love every single part made. personally, i love the cooling plate, i think it looks great, and so i bought one. one of the key points of scion's sales pitch is that u can customize and personalize the car to make yours unique. aftermarket companies are just helping that process along by offering more options to personalize your car. don't like it, don't buy it. just don't knock a company for trying to offer something to the tc community. if u can make one as nice so easily, etc etc etc, than do so-mad props to u. most of us aren't really going to even consider trying to make something like this. the mmw piece costs about $10 more than the greddy. the fact that u don't have to mod this piece at all and that it's polished aluminum makes it worth the 10 extra dollars in my eyes.

the final product looks great. is there any chance in ordering it in a raw form to have it powdercoated?

no i haven't. i've pleaded that people build an exhaust that's not raspy as all hell with a header (specifically the alphawerks).

it's over the regular dimensional weight.
1. the box is longer than regular boxes as UPS says.
2. the is an odd shaped box.
3. thats what they charge us.
4. we got that rate from west to east coast, so we decided to make it a flat rate.

I cannot conceivably see how a cooling plate could be packaged in such a fashion as to make it qualify for any of the Oversize regulations. Total combined dimension is about 60", about a yard short of any OS reg. I'm not trying to be a flaming bastard, I'm just curious as to what hikes the shipping charge... I pay about $5.75 each to mail mine.
