Default Need Help 02 sensor replacement

So basically after $6500 my hydrolocked engine is back to normal, head is cleaned and looked and I have a new short block. Anyways my car is throwing a CEL and it isn't the MAF, the tech said it was the sensor in the header, so I'm guessing its the 02 sensor? Not really sure can someone clarify this for me. He is quoting $562 for the sensor, and I am no in the mood to pay $562 for a sensor. The car sputtering as of now and running really lean, I think I can make it home, but can I order the sensor online anywhere else?

I was searching for it and came upon this thread:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=header+sensor

With this sensor:
http://frugalmechanic.com/auto-part/...-oxygen-sensor

Also this one as well:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...05&catalogid=1

I have an 07 tC if taht matters for the sensor. THe tech gave me a code but I didn't write it down. I'm going to call back and ask.

Also if he quotes the 02 sensor as under $200 without install. Should I just pick it up and install it myself? I've done header installs and ish before, I was just wondering if thats enough knowledge to do it? Thanks!

Can I use these? Also what is the difference between 2 wire and 3 wire?

The tC use a 4Wire- O2 Sensor should be no more than $80 Universal, or $150 ALready wired. The TC uses a WIDEBAND O2 Sensor which is very important it also raises the price considerably.

It uses 2 Heater Wires, Signal and Ground. If memory seres correct the 2 White Wires are Heater, Blue is Ground, and Grey is Signal.

^5 for posting the diagram.... yes it is a more expensive sensor...but what that shop is quoting is absurd. To make sure that it is THAT specific code being thrown... have your dealer or an auto parts store like Checker or Autozone pop their OBDII reader on it and write down the code. Then look it up to see what code it actually refers to.

Here you go:

1st or 3rd Option.

1st is Plug and PLay $259

3rd is You wire it up, via the diagram I gave you, $61

I'm checking the site, the make only goes up to 06, is that fine?

http://www.oxygensensorsforless.com/...2816&pid=30305

I think I'm going with this one.

Yeah the 06 to 07 jump never changed o2 sensors. If you have any doubt go look at your TC and the wire colors come back here and find them on the diagram. Or post them here and I can the the one on the chart for you. Either way it aint gonna cost you $500 to get a new one

Save yourself some headaches and buy an O2 sensor socket and a can of PB Blaster. That will make the replacement go much smoother.

Hes talking to his manager right now about the O2 Sensor and trying to cut the whole cost of labor. So if it's under $200 should I do it? I want everything to be under warranty, thats one of my main concerns.

Ok problem solved, he lowered the price to $150 because of all the work that went into my car, so I gave him the go ahead.

Rock on...that's the way to go..... ya gotta work with them sometimes to get them to budge... I would say at that price and no warranty worries.... I'd say that's a good deal.
