Default Noise like a cv shaft is grinding/blow

I've got a problem...My tC seems to be making this creaking/ticking noise when I accelerate especially when I start the car up. I just replaced the cv shaft because I thought that was the issue but it got worse. I only replaced the passenger's side because that is where it sounds like it was coming from. But it still sounds like it's coming directly from underneath the car and center of the hood. Any Ideas?

sorry I think this is in the wrong section? Possibly I should have put it in the Tech/DIY?

Should I just post another one or mods delete this one?

Did you replaced your axle with oem one or remanufactured? I've exprerienced some vibrations from non oem axles and squealing noise from loose dust cover. Usually bad axles will click when you turn, not so much at acceleration. Put your car on the lift, put it in gear and see if you can point out the noise. You never know It could be suspension, wheel bearings or tires.

it's not uncommon for the water pump to fail on the tC. from 2005-2007 or so it was an earlier design. Toyota has since redesigned the water pump. but you said you already replaced it? It is possible it's damaged, what you should look for is the weep hole on the water pump. If the water pump is bad you'll see pink coolant (if you used toyota's coolant) all white and crusty leaking out of there.

The other noise it could be is the belt tensioner. It is in the same area, and can make a grinding, clicking noise.

hope that helps ya.

^ x2 I'm thinking its something on the belt man. Doesn't sound axle related.

Thank you for your insight. It is possible he (my mechanic) did not tighten a bolt or bought a defective water pump. I'll also check the belt tensioner because I did just add an after market alternator which left the belt tensioner a bit loose, but after a week it tightened back up.

I'm scheduled to meet the mechanic on tuesday and I'll get back to you guys
