Default Cracked Head

So I just rebuilt the head on my 2007 tC and when I got it back together it was leaking oil from a crack that goes from the oil pressure sending unit to this weird circle thing.
Not sure how the crack got there but my theory is that I might have over torqued the sending unit, not that it makes a difference now.

I tried JB Weld but it still leaked from that weird circle spot, so I took it all off and I'm going to try to do a better JB Weld job then if that doesn't work I'm going to have it welded.

My questions is, What is that mystery circle next to the sending unit?

Thanks!
Mark

Probably just a plug where a passage was drilled. Never worked on a carburetor before?
