power steering pump replacement

ok so long story short.. i put a new motor in 2az-fe ofcourse but from another car so the power steering pump is different( altough it looks 100percent identical) anywho.. my power steering has now not worked for the past year and i finally wanna replace the pump

my question is:

since i really dont wanna pull the motor out to reach it would dropping the subframe gain me acess? i ask because i dont have my car near me for another month or so

ok well i thik i just answered my own question, i looked through the tech files and found the right files aparently if i remove the right wheel and the plastic/shroud in the well, then i can access the pump through there

well hopefully in a month i prove this to be right cuz i hate having to pull this motor ive done it already 4 times for other reasons

Remove the wheel-well lining and the plastic mud panels under the engine, that should give you access to all the pumps/pulleys. Space is super tight on that side of the engine so bring a boatload of patience.

Use catch cans and rags. PS fluid makes a huge mess. Toyota's use Dexron II/III Automatic Transmission fluid for PS.
