Default Problems with my Injen CAI

I had recently purchased an Injen CAI and installed it myself...besides having trouble installing the second pipe(the actual CAI part that drops down into the front bumper) and keeping it as a short ram intake for the time being untill i have more patience, my car now idles very funny and my car vibrates more...the rpm's after starting it will bounce a little up and down and i do not know why this is happening when my friend has the same exact CAI on his tC and his is fine??

Did you check to make sure everything is put together nice and tight and in the proper position? Did you disconnect your battery during the install (or reset your ECU)? Did you buy the right intake for your year? If you bought an intake for an 05-06 and you have an 07-08 (or vise versa) you will have problems since the MAF sensors are different.

I don't know how to address your specific problem but these are things to consider at least. Hope that helps a little.

I believe you just disconnect your negative battery terminal momentarily then reconnect it. Then start the car and let it idle for a few minutes. I don't know how long your supposed to have it disconnected (or if it even matters) cause when I installed mine the first thing I did was disconnect the battery so it was disconnected for a good 30-60 min.

ECU reset can be done by pulling the EFI fuse, as the ECM is fed power through the EFI fuse, that way you do not have to go through the hassle of initailizing everything

It is worthy to note Toyota cars do not need to have an ECM reset when a performance mod is added, the car is already learning how to fuel the car within a couple of miles of driving with the mod. Car computers have advanced alot.

Faulty install is the probable cause of why the car runs weird.
