anyone? bump

TcPrincess 01-17-2009 05:06 AM

just check to see if its cracked or glazed.

sciontc_mich 01-17-2009 10:05 AM

i would say to check it like ^^^ tcprincess. But most likely between 50k - 60k it should be replaced. Just to be safe.

Eltaco 01-17-2009 10:58 AM

Replace it now, keep the used one in the area where your spare tire is. I have always done this with every vehicle I have had and the used belt has come to my rescue twice.

just wondering, what would happen if the belt were to rip? and is a serpentine belt n a drive belt the same thing??

sciontc_mich 01-19-2009 10:30 AM

^^ yeah serpantine belt, drive belt, fan belt.. same thing.

TcPrincess 01-20-2009 02:18 AM

if it broke, you would loose your alt. p/s, a/c and water pump. if your paranoid then replace it, its cheap insurance. keep your old one if its still in ok condition like Eltaco said.

Mong1126 01-20-2009 02:35 AM

so I checked my serpentine belt today n it seem to be still in good condition.. no cracks n is not loose. so i should be ok for now.
THANKS everybody for ur advices =)
