Default Skunk2 and AR25 resonator

i got an AR25 resonator and was wondering where's the best place to weld it on the Skunk2 midpipe?

if possible, i'd like to keep the skunk2 resonator and add the AR25 resonator. is this even possible?

any suggestions?

i'm assuming you mean to place the AR25 resonator on the 2nd/middle pipe right? after the bend, but before the 2nd hanger?

It looks like thats the best spot. I dotn know how long that area is and how long the AR25 is. You search and check out where soem others put theres if they kept the stock one as well or get out a ruler and get under your car and measure. GL

^ my plan was to put it on my friend's lift, measure, and check for clearance. from my guesstimation, the AR25 is about a foot long (maybe a bit longer) and about 4-5 inches wide.

i just tried to save myself the trouble of having to do so if someone else had already done it. i haven't found anything about an AR25 on the skunk2 exhaust in the SL forum though.

thanks for the help and suggestions. i'll post my findings later tonight if i get to it.

Cool defintiely post your findings and pics of the install. I will prolly do this as well unless even if i do go with the drift spec from megan. i really like the skunk2 but my buddies megan drift spec sounds amazing.

what's his setup? does he have a header?

i got an alphawerks header, nvidia s-pipe, and then the full skunk2 exhaust. rasp sucks ___ so i've been driving w/ the silencer on it. i know the AR25 won't completely get rid of the rasp, but i've read on the forums that the AR25 is the best option.

He has the MMW header/spipe, AEM intake, and Megan Drift spec and has no rasp. Although he has the stock midpipe one because he is getting the megan midpipe fixed as he bought it used and the person before had a new resonator welded on and the welds broke.

^ with stock midpipe, it won't be as raspy because of the 2nd cat. i noticed that when i had the stock midpipe and HKS axle back before the skunk2.

well i got my car on the lift and the perfect place to put it is right after the s-pipe before the 1st hanger. there's more than enough space and clearance for the AR25 resonator. i hope this resonator performs as well as most people on the forum claim.

now i just gotta cut the pipe and weld the resonator!! hopefully sometime in the next couple days...

that's good to know.

when i got the AR25 resonator i kinda looked at it funny and thought how was this thing gonna drastically reduce rasp.

if you got catless headers, its gonna help you so much.. one of the best resonator out there, works great for a small size

i finally got the AR25 welded onto my Skunk2.

my setup is the following: injen CAI, alphawerks header, invidia s-pipe, and skunk2 full exhaust.

the AR25 has an inner diameter of 2.5 inches. I measured the Skunk2 outer diameter and found it was 2.38 inches or so (if i remember correctly). I measured all this using a vernier, so the measurements are very accurate. as a result of the diameter differences, the AR25 has no problems fitting over the Skunk2 pipe, but the problem is that it leaves a gap. whoever is welding it will have to be careful or else the exhaust alignment will be off.

anywho, after finally getting it welded on, i started my car up. the tone was definitely deeper and little less raspy. the resonator did not reduce as much noise as i had hoped, but maybe i was expecting too much. i still get rasp, but as stated before, it's been reduced. i'm still driving w/ the Skunk2 silencer since i still think it's too loud/raspy.

not bad for a $50 investment, but i was hoping for a lot more. i might look into getting a WR header/s-pipe combo since everyone says that it's the best sounding header.
