Default Spipe/downpipe question.

Okay, so for my 2nd tc that i have now, im going to start the engine mods now. I just installed an cai, i have a magnaflow exhaust coming within the next week or so. I cant decide with the headers...either Weapon R headers, or Dc sport headers. but my question is, do i need to replace my stock spipe/downpipe if i get one of these headers? thanks

hey mann!

well let me help you alil bit. you don't necessarily HAVE to buy a s-pipe for the DC header its only if you want to take out the restrictive stock spipe. and the weapon R header already comes with its own spipe which makes i why its 4-2-1 as opposed to DC's 4-1.

I personally would go with the WR bro. better design, better header, just all around great. and you avoid the step of having to buy an s-pipe

If you get the WR it comes with a s pipe so you will HAVE to replace the stock one. If you go with the DC it bolts up to the stock s pipe.

no you dont have to do anything, i have the megans drift spec, then i bought the invidia downpipe well before my megan header,if your getting a header you might as well get a downpipe to complete the exhaust, you dont have to but i would,

^ unless he gets the MMW in which he doesn't need to get an spipe/downpipe bc it already comes with one

If you get an S-pipe, do you have to go get it installed? Or its just an bolt on?.. I also have dc headers and trd exhaust, would it make it more raspy?..and would I feel a diffrence on the S-pipe?..thankss

With just an exhaust, all the way from the engine, there still won't be enough of a power gain that you would be able to feel. You would hear it because it'll be louder, just not really faster. All exhaust components are just a few bolts here and there. You can replace it all the way from the head to the axleback, in just a couple hours with no idea of what you're doing at the start.

a downpipe only makes the exhaust little louder,it doesnt free up some ponies but nothing you will noticed...with a complete header, downpipe and a exhaust you might feel more power to the mid range to high end nothing huge

im interested too because i have a megan midpipe with a resonator installed, short ram intake, and an injen ses exhaust so if i get a s-pipe and no header would it make my setup louder and if yes than would it make it sound better

it would make it a tad louder nothing crazy but you'll also be free-ing up a lot more airflow from the restricting stock pipe
