Help! Head bolt torque specs
Please help! My daughter has a 2009 Scion tC that she blew the engine. (Didn't check the oil, expensive life lesson) We ordered a JDM engine from a place in NJ and what they sent us was a pile of crap 2005 2AZ-FE engine, rusted out, burnt valves and blown head gasket.
Rather than pay for return freight shipping and pray we get a good engine in return, hubby is building 1 good engine out of the 2 bad ones. Head is off her 2009 engine, block is off the 2005 engine. He went to torque the head bolts down to the 2009 specs and stripped out the block.
Repaired the block, now we need the torque specs for the head bolts for a 2005 engine. I've looked all over and everything is saying 58 ft lbs plus 90 degrees. That is what he torqued it to the first time and stripped it out. 2005 engine has longer head bolts.
Does anyone know the torque specs for 2005?
