Default tC Motor Mounts

I have been searching the site for awhile and can't find a recommendation for new motor mounts.

I run a stock tC and its driving me crazy how much my engine moves. Any help is appreciated.

Aftermarket / stock ?

Also any installation walk-throughs ?

^exact the speed source mounts are a full replacement which is why they cost more, i have the energy suspensions motor mount bushings and they are a pain to install...well mainly the rear because i had to lower the sub frame and remove my s-pipe and fight with it to get it out so i could of swaped the bushing. the front and sides aren't bad at all and they're easier to remove than the rear was and install too. just make sure you know of a shop that will remove the old bushing if you can't remove it and press the new bushing onto the mount.

energy suspension also makes the motor mount inserts. does anybody have any info on how these perform? it looks easier to install cause you don't need to take the motor mounts off just insert them in the holes of the stock mount and use the provided zip ties to hold them in.

another option is to buy poly urethane tube and fill the holes. you use it with a chalking gun and fill the motor mounts. you have to roughly sand the rubber parts of the mounts so that the poly urethane will stick. many of the 240sx guys do this.

if you are having problems with removing the old rubber mounts out you can burn them out with a torch. i used a propane tank for the grill and use and torch adapter to burn them out. works on subframe bushings too. careful though, lots of black smoke. to put in the new poly bushings i used the grease provided and a big clamp the push them in. any auto shop should have a big hand turn clamp to push the poly bushings into the mount.

you would need a press to get the old mounts out/ have a shop do it and it will cost a bit.

For the $$, the Enegy is an excellent value. We sell and use a ton of the bushings. It stabilizes the car so much better than stock when hard cornering, prevent wheel hop and just plain old power shifting. We have tons of them coming into stock within the next week.

i wanted to know how the insert poly mounts performed. these are the ones that are inserted into the stock rubber mounts and zipped tied in place.

i know the full inclosed ones that requires removing the entire stock rubber ones out works great. used to use similar ones on my 300zx turbo.

i would guess the insert poly mounts will help a little to cause the mounts wont have the space there the flex as much anymore. the whole zip tie the mounts in thing is kinda sketchy though. the zip ties are the ones most radiator fan kits use.

use 3m window weld. look at import tuners diy. you car will feel the motors vibration, so i would try this before replacing all of your mounts.

Press out stock mounts, then press in Energy ones. Here is the manual.

you don't have to use zip ties at all with the ES motor mount bushings. as long as you or whoever is installing them, then you'll be fine and they will last forever as your car will more than likely brake down way before the mounts ever go bad lol

i mentioned that method above already. use to use it on my 24sx. depending out what kind you use you would either pour it in and around the stock rubber mounts or use a chalking gun and fill it around the mounts. either way you would need to pull the stock mounts off and let them dry. takes way too long.

here are the pictures of the stock mounts:

you would insert the poly mount inserts into the open holes of the stock rubber mount area.

and ZIP TIE them in.

I dont think I could trust the zip ties.

It doesnt take long at all to press the bushings in. But you do need a press

I love my ES poly mounts. the first start up of the engine with these in is the best.

Would it be a terrible idea to install just the front easier mounts and leave the rear until a latter date? I don't have the right tools here to do a sub-frame lowering job. But in a month or so the new lift should be installed.
