does not work on fuel injected cars basically. more of an upgrade for carburetor cars.

people will believe it because it works on carburetors, but fuel injected is a different story

If people think it will work for them or believe that they will add power, people will continue to sell them.

Example: Look at the HP Chips on eBay, they are sold all day long. Also those cheap leaf blower electric superchargers, those have been proven to lose power, yet they are still sold.

The premise behind this is that longer intake runners increases torque, which is true to a point [take a look at how long yours are].
The problem is, this doesn't lengthen the runners, it lengthens the plenum [making a long story short], which doesn't have the same effect.

That and the fact that Toyota designed the intake system to work together, so if you start modifying part of it, you're effecting how the whole thing interacts.

Yeah, they're useless on these [and most] cars.

This is a good example of finding the right answer by doing the wrong thing.
The point of these are to increase torque, not HP. Lengthening the intake runners can increase torque, but it will most likely lower HP [take a look at most high HP 4 bangers, they've got really short intake runners].

So this guy [the one that dynoed the car] thought he was being smart, but really had no clue what he was actually looking for. He got the right answer, but by dumb luck and not smarts.
Lesson; be careful what advice you take.
