TRD Exhaust
I just put on the TRD exhaust on my and oh boy is it supposed to be that loud and raspy? I do have a DC header in my engine? Is there any clues to making it more quite and less raspy?
From what I understand from the community, the TRD exhaust is more of a sound bolt on then a power bolt on. So almost the entire point of the exhaust is to enhance the 'ricer' sound. I've noticed that on the stock exhaust that you get rasp on the higher rmp's in 2nd/3rd gear and more growl in the mid range of 3rd/4th.
Sound depends on both rpm's and the build of the exhaust. The DC header/TRD exhaust just may be a raspier combination, if there is such a word. It's like a whistle, more/less air and/or the slight change of pipe width/length will change the tone or pitch.

we have been running the trd for a couple years, a few miles while NA and 25k while sc'd. We knew it didn't add any realistic hp, but ( and it is the wife's ride ) got it for the "audio appeal". And for us it is nice sounding, a little bark without the fart can sound. And absolutely no rasp whatsoever ( at least what i'd consider as rasp ). I'm guessing any rasp is due to the header/trd combo; though i'm sure someone out there has a similar system and could chime in.
And after the miles have been put on our system, it really has a nice deep tone.
