Default Ummm help!

ok so first of all the only engine mod to my car is the CAI fujita intake..
second, ive got about 30k miles
my car has only been serviced by toyota and had all its oil changs at the proper time.

the problem
over the last week or so my engine has developed a clicky noise from the bottom of the engine...

let me describe the clicky noise...
you can hear it quite well
idle, temps, power is all normal
when i accelerate the clicking corresponds to the rpms
when i let off the pedal the clicking goes back to an idle rate of clicking...

after leaving it at toyota for 8 hours yesterday and being stranded at home all day they called me and told me i defenatly had an abnormal clocking noise coming from the engine
8 hours to tell me what i told them when i came in....
they then told me they didnt have time to fix it and to come pick it up...
they also made accusations and blamed my intake
and kepts saying due to the amount of modifications on my car... ALL 1 OF THEM!!
so i rescheduled for today to see if they could actually fix the thing or tell me whats causing the clicking...

they just called me and said they would need to tear down the engine and the labor alone would cost $2,500
she also said it will "probably" be warrantied unless they can find a direct link to the intake causing it..

i told them to go ahead and do it...
i need my car to get to work and school sooo yea
what do you think about all this?
opinions, advice?

how loud is the noise? did it start in response to something, like driving through a puddle or hitting something?

Should have gotten a second opinion and/or replaced the intake with a stock one after they tried to blame it on that.

Don't let them try to blame it on your intake, unless they can prove that it directly caused the problem they are required to cover the work under warranty. And as long as the intake was installed properly (meaning all air coming into the engine goes through the filter) and it didn't take on water it shouldn't cause any problems like that.

well the lady called me yesterday
she said even if they do find evidence that it might have possibly been the intake that they will most likely warranty it
and possibly swap the engine....
all under warranty..

soo that makes me feel alittle better
but it still hasent technically been dubed warranty work yet.. waiting for that call today....

and yea my intake was installed properly, and cleaned periodically
i live in cali.. i dont think rain is such an issue lol defenatly didnt hydro lock it or anything..
