is this engine going to be left stock?

"The 1MZ-FE is a 3.0 L (2994 cc) engine. Bore is 87.5 mm and stroke is 83 mm. Output is 168-190 hp @ 5200-5400 RPM with 183-193 lb·ft of torque at 4400 RPM. Horsepower ratings dropped after the Society of Automotive Engineers implemented a new power measurement system for vehicle engines. It has bucket tappets , and incorporates camshaft, and head designs for good economy, without an overall performance trade-off."

oh and there is no manual tranny, so yeah why?

btw not trying to be a hater, if you reply with something like, oh i just wanted to be the only v6 tc then i can respect that whole heartedly, but if your goal was power then wtf?! just turbo the 2az! anyway much respect on the swap 1mzfe just not my favorite motor.

thanks for it being a toyota motor tho!

cant wait to see it done, so we can see what to do/ what not to do if we ever chose to do a swap.

dude, dont get all offended ^^

yeah, your the first to do it. awesome. props to ya. i'm not trying to take away from that whatsoever. I think it's awesome your going a different direction than anyone else. the only thing that i'm thinking of in doing this is that *everything* from here on out is going to have to be custom.

meh, seems like alot of work for just a 30 horsepower at the crank gain
i was gonna do a RVX-06.. but the work was just too much.

A. it's never been done.
B. i'm starting NA at 30 over 2az-fe.
C. a bit more responsive to mods.
D. i have one. you don't.

We expect 205-215 at the wheels NA, which is a nice platform to start.

C. is interesting...the motor has no aftermaket suport but...it has a near identical head designe as the 2azfe but 2 of them.
D. is f-ing awsome

i completely understand that. it's not like i went to a junk yard yesterday and pulled the engine. this has been in the works for a while.. and i would not have chosen the 1mz if power was my goal, because like you said EVERYthing has to be custom. but that's about where it stops. i know what has to go into it to make great power, however that's the next step. We did this to be unique and stand out.

AND to clear this up before anyone continues with it. it's much cheaper/easier to get number's with the 2az. But, that's pretty common now a days.

so ummm, what *is* the goal? to say that you have the first v6 tC? i mean if power isnt the goal, gas mileage certainly isnt it..... i'm not trying to be a dick, i just want to know where the idea came from?

Who knows. A couple bored kid's sitting around huffing gas and watching everyone and their mother turbo or SC their tC. And though, how cool would it be to get into the 200's w.o boost. And then we thought about the Solara comunity (1mzfe also!!!) and realized that there were decent numbers, for when we decide to go boost!.. so we said let's do this! then came the research to see how probable/possible it was.

i also enjoy the responsiveness of a V6 off the line, compared to a turbo 4 cyc. just my opinion. i'm definately am not suggesting that anyone else go my route.

cool swap. 1st and 2nd gen MR2 owners have done this swap. I read about one guy who put a 1mz-fe + TRD supercharger (eaton/roots-type, not the centrifical-type for the tC) in his 2nd gen MR2. among MR2 owners there a debate whether the added weight of the 1mz makes up for the added power/torque, especially when you can mod the stock turbo engine. i guess that same debate can apply here.

Not tring to be negative or something but iy will make it slower it will weight more, for just like 30hp I would prefer boosting it. One of a kind tho.
