Default 2AZFE cams are now available

Brian Crower Stage 2 NA, Stage 2 Turbo and Stage 3 N/A!

http://www.dezod.com/cat-camshafts3.cfm

Now available at Dezod.

To get the most out of the cams, you will need tuning done. End of story. Cams change the entire volumetric effeciency of the motor. It opens and shuts the valves in a different pattern all together, which means different air flow parameters, which may require more or less fuel, more or less timing in some areas.

Cam profile stock: Dur Dur @ .050 Lift (in)
248/240 212/200 .385"/.355"

Stage 2 N/A Dur Dur @ .050 Lift (in)
264/256 218/214 .385"/.363"

Stage 2 Turbo Dur Dur @ .050 Lift (in)
272/272 222/222 .401"/.401"

Stage 3 N/A Dur Dur @ .050 Lift (in)

lol... well.. ok ... NA cams are nice and i guess to some extent about time... but theres gotta be a catch... theres gotta be some kind of fuel correction for them... or timing correction.. every manual i've read and tech ive talked to said the same thing about not working with LIFT on our motors...or hell even a dyno on the NA cams them...

paul can you give some info on the cams?? any numbers, tech info, etc etc on how these will affect the NA and TURBO 2az?

I have no dyno data from Brian Crower, but the problem with dyno data on cams is that it is heavily dependent upon the cars mods, engine management and tuner. So in other words, the same cam on one car might make 35whp vs another where it makes 10whp.

Would the turbo one work well for the S/C or would I have to look elsewhere?

I'd like to see the S/C fellas run Stage 2 N/A. I think that would be a good balanced cam when not in boost.

would the stage 2 NA cams work with turbo guys? I know with the stage2 turbo cams you need upgraded springs and retainers and the NA you don't. But i think it would be a nice street able cam. just not sure about the center line if it'll hurt performance for turbo guys.....

so with turbo and f/ic, these cams would still require retune? Like what sort of retuning? Just fuel stuff? cause that's all the f/ic really does...

N/A cams will even work for turbo sure! Anything is better than stock, but I would recommend the VS&R kit on a turbo app for sure to prevent valve float under intense cylinder pressures.

Fuel and ignition curves will need to be reworked 100%.

I have heard it. It sounds funny for sure especially when it is a tad "lopy"

hmm, little stiff on the pocket and the fact that it needs the spring kit too for 285, i think i'll wait a bit.

also, how would these cams work with your spring kit?
