6-speed tC1 swap kit
#403
I'm still driving the original swap kit for the TC1 with an os giken lsd. I just clocked over 80k miles since descendant did the swap years ago. Everything works perfect except for there is a pop on the drivers side axle. It has made the noise since the swap and yes I have replaced the axles. Pretty sure it's binding but it only does it at low speeds while turning. Normal driving on the highway and no noise. Maybe when I get my tax return I'll rip out the driver axle and replace it with a TC2 axle otherwise I'll get a custom one. Other than that the 6 speed swap has been great.
Btw the 6 speed transmission holds at least 350 hp because there is one bolted directly to an 2grfe that is supercharged in a first generation toyota mr2 in the uk. Seen the build and the numbers so it's good for some power. I'm in the process of building the same setup but in a 2nd generation toyota mr2.
Also you can pick these transmissions up now for about $600-$700. I paid $1500 for mine new from descendent which was still cheaper than one from toyota.
