for those asking. if you have an MT ecu there should be nothing to worry about. maybe just the wiring for the reverse light (at most IMO)

im thinking

2 mounts
custom flywheel
custom axle for driver side
fixed it for you chico... IMO thats all that should be needed.

this is similar to the H2B tranny swaps when doing this in the honda realm only with a honda the parts are a little different in terms of what you need but im not gona go there since this is scion.

should be a decent upgrade for anyone... inb4fanboiz

the new trans is a little beefier. it should hold pretty well like the tc1. but that also depends on the driver lol

Little beefier in what aspect? It's the same size as the tC1's 5speed from understanding. So, unless someone cracks it open and sits the internals next to each other, I would have to assume the tC2's internals are smaller since it's stuffing another gear within the same size casing.

sup travis. when i talked to a friend who was a service tech he went over some of the new specs with me and showed me an already cracked open bell housing. he was taking it apart just for kicks to see if the 05-06 LSD would in any way be compatible. after he inspected the trans and looked up some components, he shared with me that the trans didnt have as many fail points as the previous (ie no more copper/brass parts, weak synchro design, and higher grade machined gears amongst a few things). i wasnt there to verify but thats what we discussed. he said the shifting should be super smooth and not so sloppy also from the new updates. the common 2nd gear pop or 5th gear pop was fixed from the prev. e350. and the spline/shafts for the gears also looked beefier. im going on what he says. im gona look at the trans myself later this month for kicks also

I would like an honest answer to my question. I am no "car knowledge buff", nor know a lot about how a car works, so my question may seem dumb, but what is the purpose and for doing this?
