I received my AEM FIC 6 this Friday and went to AEM Power to download the FIC 6 software. Got that part done and hooked the FIC to the laptop. Followed the instructions that were given and received this message (FIC firmware version 3 is not compatible and must be updated).
Read on here that I needed to flash the FIC to the Z104 hex file. Did that But now when i open the program it says it cannot find a functioning FIC AEM's site is down right now and am so confused of what to do next. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

I took the pnp harness and fic out for now, and just plugged the original wires to the ecm. Can anyone help on here?

 

you have to use z3.81.hex in order for it to work and load up base maps.

 

oh. thanks boostedtc1 it finally worked for me. Guess i cant go by older posts right.

 

I am getting the same error msg upon installing my AEM FIC. Where can I find this z3.81.hex file? or if possible can you please send it to me.

 

Brandoe91- Were you able to find the file on the aem site? I read your message and tried to remember were I located it. I went to aempower.com under the downloads section you will see the software option. When I just looked I didn't see the 3.81 but I did see the 3.07 as long as you are running 3 or higher it should work. if you find that one there is a youtube video showing how to reflash your fic.
