AEM UEGO WideBand Gauge wont turn on...
I was driving to work today when I was getting on an on ramp and decided to down shift from 5th to 4th to pass some people.
As soon as I down shifted my WideBand went on the fritz. It started to read 22's, 13's, 15's, 0000, and random numbers. I was not making boost when the gauge started to go crazy. It went crazy when I down shifted. I then pulled into the parking garage at work and before I could turn off the car the wide band died. I let the car cool down and then shut it off. I turned on the power again and nothing showed up. I then disconnected the battery, let it drain, reconnected, turned it on, nothing. I then checked my wiring to see if anything came loose. It is attached to my cigarette lighter plug. The wiring was fine. I then thought it might have blown a fuse for the plug. I plugged in my car charger and it worked fine. How is it that my $300 AEM Gauge just decided to go out? I contacted AEM and they said if I send it in they will warrant it for me...but if I can fix it I will just do that. Any ideas? |
just send it back and get a new one. why try and fix damaged goods when you can get a new working one for free?
|
Because I am lazy and don't want to remove the wiring. Although since it's in the cubby hole it it not that hard to remove.
But I don't understand why an AEM gauge would go out. That is like a DEFI coming DOA on you. |

Apparently this gauge is a POS. I am not the only one with this issue. What a crap gauge for 300 bucks... |

Man, that sucks. Now I have to uninstall it, plug my s-pipe, and send the thing off =/ Good thing I get tuned tomorrow at church's! |
That is indeed a good thing. The wide band isn't THAT bad. You're only making it seem bad because you don't want to do it. :P

Only because it shouldn't have broken in the first place! Haha...if I decided to step on it and then it decided to not work I would understand that... |

Aen i have an amazing plan. Get AEM to send your old one back then i'll have it shipped to me. I'll then send it to AEM and say it's broken. and they can send me a new one! sound good? great!

Plus, I am sure there are serial numbers on them, so they probably have the defective serial numbers on file. Dumbest plan ever.
