Any TRD S/C owner use REGULAR gas?
The Chevy Cobalt SS S/C is about 205-220 WHP stock. And online car-sites state that it takes regular gas. I even called a Chevy dealership to confirm this. Yep, regular goes in the S/C Cobalt.
So.. we get a S/C for the tC that puts us at 200WHP.. and from what I've heard you all use premium. Why?......
I'm just wondering. I'd like to get the TRD S/C and use regular. Thanks.

No you cannot use regular on the TRD s/c. They say this for a reason. Regardless of what Chevy does it is stupid not to use premium gas in a f/i car. The tc's gas tank is 14.5 gallons so assuming premium is 20 cents higher than regular the most extra you could possibly spend is $3. If you're not willing to pay that then f/i is not for you.

well i only let it go to the light a couple of times cause i was checking on how many miles ill get a tank which is about 250 . I fill it up about $.30-$.50 past the click and still get 12.5 or so?

I'm not sure but the SS S/C requires Premium gasoline. But you can still put in regular gasoline if you're cheap. You could do it with the TRD Supercharger as well, but it is not recommended. If you accidentally put in regular gasoline into a Supercharged tC, nothing will probably happen.

^No nothing will happen if you accidentally do it a few times maybe even regularly, trust me it's tuned retardedly safe but I just think that if you're going to spend 3k plus for a s/c what's 3 extra dollars a fill up?

SS S/C Cobalts use Premium too, I was looking into getting one before the tC. Like everyone else said though, if you can't afford gas for the s/c then you shouldnt be considering getting a TRD S/C. I wouldnt consider putting reg unleaded in my baby, espacially with my NST 9.5psi pulley.

I know if an infiniti i30 that was using mid grade and it threw a cel. This isnt going to happen in the tC but my point is ...do what you are suposta do. If you live in the nj area and know of a place that has 91oc ...thats fine also if you are looking to save a few cents.

Regular gas (low octane) doesn't do much of anything to the car. Yes, it will make the engine knock because lower octane gas ignites easier than higher octane. The point of high octane is to avoid pre-ignition which causes knocking.
But if you run low grade, your engine definately won't sound so happy with you.
