Lol yeah man the BOV Should never move... alright well just double check all the vacuum lines and part that require boost signal...

Lol yeah that's no good man.. well I would say .030 to start and see how the engine idles and how it feels under load/boost.. it's more of trial and error because each engine and turbo setup is different..

Gap should be between 0.032 & 0.036. You'll have to play around with it to see what gap gives you the best response. The NGK's come pre-gapped to 0.044 which is too big.

To find the boost leaks, hook up an air compressor to the compressor side of the turbo and regulate it down to 5 psi or so. Then spray soapy water over all connections to look for bubbles. You will likely find a leak around the MAF, compressor housing, and probably some of the IC pipe couplers. Also check the coupler on the throttle body. It's an easy one to miss. If you have a leak on the compressor housing, don't overtighten the bolts, you'll end up snaping them off or stripping the threads. If possible, take the compressor housing off and throw an O-ring to the plate (chances are there isn't already one on there). That should seal everything up nicely. I forget what size the O-ring needs to be. I can probably check tomorrow.

Swapped out plugs, found some weird little box in my vaccum line behind the intake manifold with holes in the top and bottom that was leaking like holy hell. Sealed it up. I'll take pics later and try to figure out what it is or if I just need to remove it, also I'm getting blow by from the valve cover vent into the intake so that probably isn't helping at all. Gonna get an oil catch can as soon as possible. On the upside none of the plugs were covered in oil so it doesn't look like i've fried any rings.

http://imgur.com/kpYGczV Did some research, turns out it's the vacuum surge tank, but it is sucking in air like a mofo. What is the purpose of it and is it necessary?

That probably shouldnt be there if it was behind the intake manifold. I dont recall having that when I rebuilt my motor. Previous owner prolly installed it for whatever reason and ended up causing problems (especially if its sucking in air). Air should only be sucked in through the compressor inlet. You probably have unmetered air going into the combustion chamber when the valves pull air in and that's causing the afr to be lean. Put a straight coupler in there or swap out the whole line if possible and see if that helps.

Got the vaccum leak fixed by just taping up that little box until I can get a tube to get rid of it. Holy cow what a difference, my car goes like hell now, where do I go to get help with better traction?

Better clutch,better tires,poly u motor mounts,final solution is Limited slip differential....

It actually came with all of that stuff except for the LSD. Guess I'll just have to wait to blow out my trans lol. I'll have to make another more relevant thread in regards to whether I should run the camry trans.

Darkshadow that's been done already the Camry trans is identical to the TC trans. Rhe only difference is the Camry has a higher overdrive gear... when I worked at Toyota I compared the gear ratios and they were the same besides overdrive..lol..

A member from Miami is using the trans from the 3rd gen MR2 but that swap is expensive and requires fabricating new mounts,brackets,and making a new axle. Look up darknight for more details..

I don't know if I wanna get into all that lol, the camry trans just bolts up though right? I just wanted it for the over drive, I figure if it's just a direct swap why not, or would i have to make brackets for it too?

FYI, I just picked up an 04 Camry trans and the Quaife LSD. Going to install the diff over the winter, and swap it in next spring. So far from what I can tell, it's identical. Only minor difference is that the camry trans has the pick-up for the speedo gear, but that isn't needed for the tC. I'll probably just leave it in there so I don't have to try to find a block off plate.

The trans I got from a junkyard for $200. The Quaife LSD is being sold for really cheap on ebay, only $569 (snagged one last night)

Will do. Admittedly, it will be a while before I get it all in. Probably ~6 months (NY/NJ winters suck!)
