Cel Code After Installing AEM UEGO Wideband

I installed the AEM UEGO and everything seemed pretty straightforward but when i turned the car on i got a cel with this code * DTC P0031 HO2S Heater Circuit Low Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1
i searched the forums to see what i did wrong, the sensor is in the downpipe after the turbo and before the cat in the exhaust, anyone know what i did wrong or is this normal?

Did you unplug anything?

Mr_Meaty 04-15-2008 07:36 PM

Yeah...I got that code when i forgot to plug the primary 02 sensor back in on top!

Red_tC 04-15-2008 07:39 PM

I unplugged the oem sensor that was in the stock manifold/downpipe

Ok plug it back in. Thats the 02 sensor you absolutely must have.

Red_tC 04-15-2008 07:42 PM

Where did you put the sensor for the gauge?

kikcaffine 04-15-2008 07:44 PM

You have to get a bung welded in on the s-pipe some where. Usually before the second 02 I think. Dont quote me on the location though please. But definetly not where you had it.

Would an O2 emulator work?

I'm guessing you didn't read the AEM instructions???

No not for what he's trying to do. He needs a third physical location for this 02 sensor to sit.

Red_tC 04-15-2008 08:00 PM

I did read the instructions and was told that it was fine to swap out instead of welding another spot, but i guess that was poor information. Thanks for your help kikcaffine, I will get that welded tonight.

kikcaffine 04-15-2008 08:07 PM

Oh snap, which one?

CarbonXe 04-15-2008 08:08 PM

You're boosted and you can't figure out how to install a plug? I'm sorry but I can't wait to see what your reaction is going to be when your chargepiping comes loose or you blow the seal, lol.

Thats not nice to say. I boosted my car, fixed a ____ ton of problems, and I dont know where or how to weld that little bung in.

I know it's not nice to say, but I just know it will happen.

Red_tC 04-15-2008 08:18 PM

Say what you will, and I had my chargepiping come lose and fixed it fine along with some other bumps in the road, I had a question so i asked and got an answer you are in no way helpful in this thread

He usually isnt. Its just who he is. He just likes to feel like a big man on the internet by telling other people how stupid they are and saying that they will fail at what they are doing. Let him do his thing.
