Clutch Engaging in Neutral
 

I have recently taken off my turbo to sell the tC and today was making the final prep by taking out my ACT clutch. Once I did, everything went back together fine with the OEM clutch (and new OEM release bearing), but now the clutch is engaging in neutral and has no reaction when depressing the clutch pedal.

My friend through it was a bent fork. It was working fine when I took it apart with the ACT HD Street clutch installed...

I had the ACT put in professionally since I didn't have the tools/space to do it at the time and the mechanic told me he adjusted something about the engagement (I think). I have no clue if this would be something I'd have to change 'back' so that it would work again with the OEM clutch or if it's even related to this.

yes most people like me had to change the engagement on the scion after installing the act clutch,if thats what hes talking about,its a push rod behind the clutch pedal itself inside the cabin,

Would this adjustment cause what I've described is happening? A mechanic friend stated that those usually just adjust the pedal. (He's never worked on a tC - just called him to troubleshoot).

What do you mean by bad? Like what is broke? It was working perfectly when I took it out and it just got put in a box and sat on a shelf in the garage until yesterday...

it sounds like your clutch is stuck engaged. this usually happens when the springs pop out that hold it disengaged did the clutch work at all before you put it in or did you get to drive a bit then it poped out?

No, it didn't work after the swap back to OEM.

did you inspect it before you put in the new one?

plus the springs are just rubber bushings on the OEM clutch they probably rotted sitting in the box due to not being used and when you pushed the clutch in the first time it broke them.

Only been like 11 months. So you think I need to swap a new disc in there?

could. i would have someone take a look to see if when you press on the pedal make sure the slave cylinder moves the fork. assuming you're not losing hydraulic pressure in the line (pedal stays firm). when you try to put the car in gear does it grind or go in smoothly and then nothing happens?
