Dezod IC piping size?

hey does anyone know if the dezod kit pipe that connects to the throttle body is 2.25" or 2.5"?

ElevationTC 08-04-2009 12:15 AM

ur piping looks to be 2.25.. but uhhhh

About SFP Technology: Yet another Dezod first in the Scion world. Dezod Motorsports has designed it's intercooler pipes using a form of design we designate as SFP Technology. Staggered Fitment Pipe Technology allows for decreased spool up time, and thermal dynamic properties to be upheld with keeping air velocity up at all times. As a result, this leads to less turbo lag, better throttle response and a more balanced power curve

so maybe its not..

i have 2.5 piping and urs looked small?

you should of just used the pipe ur maf was in!

bump anyone know lol

m6ar2cel6oTC 08-04-2009 03:26 AM

chads a dumbass! rushes things to much then comes around and bites him in his ___!

SoFloTC 08-04-2009 03:30 AM

well i was never told that the MAF had to be on a larger piping, all i was told to do was relocate it lol... but how does nobody know the size piping? and yes im to lazy to go measure.

m6ar2cel6oTC 08-04-2009 03:40 AM

tune

SoFloTC 08-04-2009 03:42 AM

what? didnt ptuning state that my setup was incorrect?

Ace83 08-04-2009 02:25 PM

hot side 2.25, after intercooler 2.5".. at least thats what i remembered

ecko04 08-04-2009 02:44 PM

The 2.5” belong to the hot side of the intercooler and the passenger side of the vehicle, while the cold side is 2.25” and belongs to the driver side.

So yeah 2.25"

Ace83 08-04-2009 07:46 PM

^^ are you positive about that? isnt that gonna cause restriction? I imagine the compressor outlet to be less than 2.5", maybe 2.25" or less then connects to a pipe that is 2.5 then after the IC it goes back to 2.25", isnt gonna be bottlenecking?

SoFloTC 08-04-2009 08:27 PM

ya for some reason the hot side is all 2.5" and the cold side 2.25"

talk about restriction..

paul_dezod 08-04-2009 08:39 PM

Why not just PM me? :?

The smaller diameter keeps air velocity up. Colder more dense air is tighter knit than than hot air with more separated molecules. So with colder more dense air molecules, we want them to move FAST back into the TB. We do not want those cold, close knit molecules to come undone because velocity is moving so slow that there is a heat exchange that then occurs.

It's 2.5" hotside and 2.25" cold.

On our "off the shelf" IC pipes with a larger intake, we made 454whp @ 23 PSI. So you have plenty more restrictions to meet prior to that one Chad.

There kits are designed to run 9 psi and make max power with this, for someone looking to make 500whp they usually dont buy a bolt on kit..

For 9 psi this has many great benifits! Im pretty sure you would not need anything bigger then 2.25 or 2.5 because the turbo outlet it self isint bigger then that!

Indeed. 500+whp requires, $$, parts, know how and lots of persistence and is not for everyone.

Simply make the intake larger on the system and the cold side too. You're ready for 500whp. EOS if you feel it's not enough for your needs.

not disagreeing paul! Its not sensible for you or your company to make piping for 500+ cars when there is only 4-5 of them i can think of... and there custom.. 99% of your customers are looking for bolt on under 500 WHP.. and this kit works great..

Im still waiting for ur race kit! :)

Also you guys do cermaic coating! i need my mani done BADLY!

paul_dezod 08-04-2009 08:53 PM

Just to further debunk some more myths, here is a turbo 1.7L Honda we did on a 3076R. Anyone wanna guess what sized IC pipes where on it?

I know. None was taken. I was stating to Chad about options of only replacing the intake and cold side.

Yes we do offer JH services. Email me pics of the manifold and what coating you want, and I will see what I can do! paul@dezod.com

ya i no longer have an intake so thats solved, i was thinking of making the cold side full 2.5" and getting a 3" dp + spipe, it wud be sick if u guys would produce a 5 bolt dp+ spipe combo for those looking to upgrade there s1 kits.
