Hey guys I'm curious at what psi does the wastegate actuator open and what is the max boost that you can usually hold without a boost controller? Looking for people who run the turbo and experienced it because right now Im only holding 6 psi and supposedly I should hold around 8.5 psi. I called Greddy and they said that I should be around 8.5 psi, but I've read some posts around the forum that say it is necessary to get a boost controller to boost past 6 psi. I'm not sure if I have a boost leak or not and would like some clarification.

Get a vacuum/psi tester thingy. It's a hand pump thing that's clear and has a gauge on it to measure inches of mercury (vacuum) or pressure (psi). That will let you pump pressure into your waste gate actuator and physically see when it opens. Awesome tool to have.
