Help me decide on what clutch to get.
ok i found a great deal on a stage 2 clutchmaster's clutch and was wondering if for daily driving it'd be ok?
i'm installing my turbotoyota's kit on monday the 14th and was gonna order the clutch today so they can go ahead and install it as well.
so my question is, would the stage 2 be enough to get more power to the ground and be reliable?
thanks in advance people.
i'm pumped to become a boosted brother here soon :D

marcial id go with a stage 3 clutch or something roughly the same but since most stage 3 clutches tend to be more expensive than a stage 4 id go with the stage 4...however the stage 4 is a bit harsher but managable.
i would get the act clutches, all are disc type but clamping power is like from stage 4-5..

these will be my next clutch and see how good these clutches are for DD. Im happy with my clutchmaster stage 4 though, 1 year 15K miles without issues.

Here is a little of what i know. Last year we had a Clutchmasters Stage 6 for the 300-500whp monster car. It worked GREAT, but it was really an on-off switch, there was very little modulation and the car was a PAIN to move around slowly. Moving out of a paddock spot was nearly impossible, and I killed it I dont know how many times trying to do sub 10mph down the paddock and pits. The worst was trying to move it up onto the trailer, it was impossible!!
This year we have an Exedy Stage 2 (i believe) and the car is an entirly different animal! Even with a really light rotating assembly, wicked cams and 500whp at my right foot, I can easily drive the car anywhere. Into the trailer is super easy, as is around the paddock. Sure its not the ligthest clutch on the market, but i would not hesitate to recomend it to ANYONE, that actually wants to drive their car on the street. Its a great clutch, hands down, and it WILL take your power just fine.

In 2007 and early 2008 race season, we were running the Exedy Stage 2 on the TA tC.

i daily drive the stage 7, not nearly that bad!
and the stage 6 or 6.5 you had is the street version!?
Either way i have the Clutch master stage 7 twin and its been great!
maybe the exedy is much better, but i have had 0 issues with the CM as well
Heh seems like I'm the only one looking to downgrade a stage (and brand) because I got tired of the annoyances accompanying the CC Stg. 4. Good cluch that held the power, but it just got annoying to drive everyday.
I would recommend any clutch that's got a high torque rating that 1) is a solid disk and 2) advertises close to stock pedal feel if you're driving this car more than 4 days a week. I'm personally giving the Spec Stage 2+ a shot. I had a Spec on my last car and loved it (held my aftermarket turbo setup there just fine). I, too, was invited to the CC Stg. 4 because of the price, but sometimes that $75-100 isn't worth it, at least to me.
Good luck!

As for issues, the CM clutch was 100% reliable, and never had any issues, as i said, it was just an on/off switch. it was super hard to modulate, and supper grabby..... it was great for smokey 1st gear pit exits though!!!
