Innovate MTX-L: Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

Innovate has a new gauge out late last year and I decided to give it a go since I was in teh market for a wideband. Figured I'd post up something on it since I haven't seen anyone running it yet. Once I get install pics I'll post them up but out of the box the look and quality of the gauge it top notch.

Link to site about the gauge.

looks like an aem knockoff but it has a killer afr range..

aem uego only goes from 10-17afr gas...inovate goes 7.35-22.4...so i give this gauge the thumbs up.

Supposed to be fully digital, which others are not plus it can be calibrated which I don't think the AEM one can be. Nice to have another option out there.

Dont all of them use the LSU 4.2 sensor? How can one be more accurate than another when theyre relying on the same sensor?

good question thendawg...I suppose its going to come down to the sensitivity of the guage itself and how it interprets the variances in voltage...this is just a guess though.

Not saying the AEM is less accurate but in general a just because a sensor is being used doesn't mean it is as accurate as the next system using it. I liken it to a speedometer using the same sensor but one is off 5 mph, the one with better calibration is more accurate. Not sure any normal user could tell a difference there. But yea same sensor.

Not trying to market the unit but showing a new option on the market:wink:

my friend has the other innovative wideband actually i know 2 people using them and they love them i've been thinking about switching from the AEM because it does seem to be a better unit.

Finished up the install this weekend, I played a bit with testing a couple of the error codes and sure enough communicated it. The calibrating was quite easy, should be nice for keeping it accurate. I like the look, only complaint would be not being able to adjust the digital led color but not a feature out there yet. I definately could have gotten the kit with the shorter cable, tons of extra cable under my dash.

looks good

Megasquirt recommends Innovative gauges, heh. They both use the same Bosch sensor I thought, the AEM and the Innovative so they should be the same in accuracy.

Reason why the AEM is higher is because the manufacturer sets the price that retailers can sell it for so they don't fight amongst themselves.

BTW, nice pillar; I have the same one but yours fits a whole hell of a lot better

prolly need to use epoxy kyle...rip the cloth off and epoxy that thing

I did some trimming on the plastic to get it to fit better plus I used a high strength silicone to bond it rather than tape, not sure if that helps the fitment or not.

Thats pretty cool

After having had this for awhile now I absolutely love it. The recalibrate plus I just like the way it looks in my car.
