Default Mass Air Flow Sensor

Well first i would like to say hello, not my first time on here but first time as a poster. Last week i was talking to some guys at a local car meet about the motor and all the electronics on the Tc and ive even talked to a couple of the techs at a toyota dealership and all have said that everything is the same from 05 to 2010. I have a 2010 tc and i ordered an intake that was for the 05-06 years. got it in the mail and everything went to check to see if the MAF would fit and its to small for the hole. its like a 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch around in some ares where its to big. So my question is whats the best thing to do? Should i get one of my friends 05 MAF and see if it fits and order one for $50 bucks? or make a plate with a smaller hole in it and fill the gap from the MAF sensor hole to the plate with some of the rubber sealent stuff? Please let me know what yall think i should do. Thanks

You could us a MAF adapter plate....I forget where they are sold or you can return it for an 07+, those are all the same. 05-06 used a different MAF so those won't fit correctly.

Or you could do stuff the correct way. send it back and get an intake for your new engine. There are differences in the engine. Any toyota tech should know that. They should at least know that the MAF's were different. I wouldn't take your car to anyone who told you the was no differences in the engines.

sorry for the rant. A certified toyota tech should know better.
