Well the timing I think would have been too advanced and too lean when he boosted, above 7psi.

Thus the need to retard when your boosted, with a piggy back or standalone.

Not to sure how much timing retard the stock ecu can perform.

I have the hydra cut back 3 degrees of timing in case of knock, if I remember correctly. I left it to whatever it came with, lol.

Been a while since I looked at that value.

Well i'm just talking about the safety feature it has, when it detects knock.

Not that i'm only retarding 3 degrees when i'm boosting ^^

I'm at 12psi.

How would you explain the zpi kits, that had no management and were just fine up to 6-7 psi.

But then again I think they were on stock fuel injectors. Not too sure, since I never got a zpi kit.

With bigger injectors, the car might be able to idle. Really rich but idle. It all depends on the size of the injectors, and the latency, blah blah blah.

For the most part I think the Stage 0's were on stock injectors. If you tossed larger ones in, you would have idling issues.

Thats the thing you had it at 7psi this guy is a speed junkie and he cranked that boost controller so we arent talking 7-9 psi we are talking exact recall on the GReddy Profec B Spec II he had said 16.2 psi so there you have it

not hard to believe because i loaded the 7psi spring and had a full catback 2.5" and a custom s-pipe 2.5" that got me up to 9psi. i already knew it wasnt very smart but i planned on getting engine management but unfortunatly problems came up in the financial part which stopped me from furthering the build. after a year of not being able to get out of my financial situation i had to sell the kit but always drove it and raced once in a while which the car was my daily driver. never been to any mechanic or dealership to be worked on or fixed. only thing I had to do every few months was change the spark plugs. regardless of if i ran the kit for a year and a half without management i still recommend it but just surprised at the topic because ive had this kit with not one single problem
