After the shift? Or just one pop and then you go?

^^Disconnect it to see if that eliminates the problem. Process of elimination.

Or disable it by tapping the button. If you disconnect it, the car won't start.

^^What do you mean if you disconnect it, the car won't start? You can't go back to Not having a WOT box after you have installed it?

Yes but you have to splice the wires back together from what I saw in the install video.

You can go back, but you have to jumper the wiring harness. Since the WOT Box gets wired inline with your ignition coil power, if you disconnect it from it's harness, there will be an open circuit in that line and the car won't start.

Think of it as splicing a switch inline with a light bulb. If you remove the switch from the circuit, the light bulb won't work until you either replace the switch or reconnect the open wires.

So, yes, the WOT Box needs to be installed for the car to run.

I wasn't talking about leaving the wires connect. When I said disconnect, I'm talking everything.

Yeah, I saw an install video as well, well, not exactly a video. It's just the way it's presented.
