I'm running into an issue with my setup and cannot figure it out. After about an hour of driving on the freeway it goes into limp mode, where it runs at a safe AFR, from my understanding of the first post is that since the ECU is always re learning it self, is there a way to prevent limp mode? If I reset the battery so the ECU resets teh car will be fine again, if not the car will be runnig constantly rich, 10:1, as low as my AEM uego gauge will read.

I'm looking into purchasing the MSD digital 6 box, but I dont know if that will do any help!

My setup:

Greddy Bolt On Turbo Kit
Greddy Emanage Ultimate w/ 440CC injectors
AEM Water/Methanol Injection

Currently tuned @ 8psi, 293 whp torque, 365 torque

PLEASE PLEASE any help is appreciated, I've gone through so many sets of spark plugs and just went through a set of new coil packs.

Help --im thinking of buying another car OR getting a turbo. I really do love my tc but ive heard of so many problems with n/a cars going boost..it is my daily driver.. not thinking of going higher than 8psi. Is it safe?

Side note: If i buy a turbo kit.. will that come with pretty much everything necessary? Do they usually come with MAP sensor, fuel injectors, fuel pump and lines, etc?

What a GREAT post!!(:
I have an 09 tc out here in southern cali and first question is does anyone know of any good shops that knows the ins and outs of TCs and has experience with turbos?? all my friends have V8s and know nothing of what they call my "chop sticks" lol
I spent all day researching and came up with: a greddy T4 turbo bolt on kit, and exhaust (with their exhaust its no cats), timer and to because the tranny can only boost up to 200hp a rebuild is necessary to get the right air to fuel ratio and make sure everything is breathing right. THEN I run into someone who has a few friends that all have 07 scions ... hes telling me that every single one of them has blown their engines..."they barely stepped on it and there went the engine!" .. he said its because scion has crappy pistons and one slip of anything and the motor is done! .. is this only for 07s or a bunch of bologna his friends just didnt have the right stuff?! ... There is a place i found in jersey that would rebuild the entire tranny..after 8200 in parts and a tranny rebuild looking at about 300 hp to the wheels. according to the greddy guy this is all truth if it is done right. but then hearing what the guy says about the engine I got scared...
what is the issue with the engine?? is this true?? .. i read you said with the turbo you arent going to get the same life as if it were stock... is a engine rebuild neccessary to run the turbo and get good life?? what is neccessary.. willing to do anything to just get a nice tc .. would love to build up the look of my car but will not do that without the power to back it up ..

soo
do you know of anyone in so cal that works on TCs?
what is the 411 on the motor?
I need all the opinions positive/negative i can get please!!
thank you soo much(:

This was prolly answered in another thread but I'll ask here for the masses in the FAQ's...

What is the MAXIMUM amount of boost that the stock internals of the first gen (2010 to be exact) motor can hold without detonation / damage? Thanks!

What you are failing to realize is that the efficiency of the setup, the tune and the quality of the fuel used will dictate this. All of these are in your control. Do a poor job commanding one or all and it can pop on 2 PSI of boost.

TOUCHE GOOD SIR!!! fully understand the logic there. However... I know it won't hold 2 bars! Lolol I was originally thinking of around 4 to 6 psi... a very mild boost to say the least... as high as 8 psi maybe... anything higher I would start searching for higher grade internals to hold...
