scion_andrew 12-28-2009 02:29 AM

cause i cant do it during the day when i work and when i come home they are awake and i dont want them knowing that i am boosting

scion_andrew 12-28-2009 02:34 AM

thats weird
idk why they would care unless they r payin for the car or something..
anyway just ues a razor balde an it will come off thats how i got mine off

gingles 12-28-2009 03:00 AM

putty scraper and a hammer....go at it by an angle....

1. since your license is suspended......why are you boosting, gonna try to run from the cops?

2. imo.....stupid idea.

dave2610 12-28-2009 03:21 AM

thats what i was wondering. why would you go boost when your license got suspended?

agencytc 12-28-2009 03:26 AM

i got suspended for taking the blame for a friend doing something with his car he was underage and no license with him and no ins and i did it because i didnt think they would give me a ticket for reckless driving. and no i paid for the car myself i just dont want them knowing because they arent wanting me to boost.

agencytc 12-28-2009 03:27 AM

i did run twice and got away but never again am i effin around on the streets

jasonrs2 12-28-2009 03:28 AM

cburglb34 12-28-2009 04:11 AM

i hate dropping our oil pan i used a long big flathead and a hammer ive done this over 6 times and i dred it ive made alot of damage to the bottom of the block from the flat head digging into it

scion_andrew 12-28-2009 04:15 AM

na lol i am suspended for 3 months so i am taking my time on it but i wanna boost it cause they dont know its being driven so i will work on it since its not being driven and last day of suspension put the main assembly on and connect all the easy stuff

gingles 12-28-2009 07:07 AM

easiest way imo is a paint scraper and a hammer....just be careful not to hit the oil piuckup

ScionFred 12-28-2009 09:43 AM

I used a putty knife and hammer but if I ever have to do it again, I'm using one of these:

agencytc 12-28-2009 06:25 PM

i just finished taking off all the screws tried the flathead screwdriver going to try the putty knife

syberspyder 12-28-2009 06:55 PM

I did a search for when I asked this question but couldn't find it. Anyways, I tried all of these methods mentioned, but nothing worked as good as what someone posted on my thread.

Get the triangular type razor blades, hammer one in in the corner near the oil filter, then wedge another one underneath in the same spot. Keep doing this until you can get something in there to wedge the rest off. I would also leave a couple bolts threaded in a little so the pan doesn't just drop making a mess.

agencytc 12-28-2009 07:42 PM

fml still havent been able to take it off time for work ill try later again

skinnayyy 12-28-2009 07:52 PM

i read that doing it while the engine is still pretty warm makes it easier since the glue holding it on is warm and doesn't hold as well. i'm sure you've already drained all your oil and can't start the engine (or don't want to for that matter) so you could always use a heat gun to loosen it up a little

agencytc 12-29-2009 04:05 AM

yeah i am going to try using a torch tomorrow and see what happens

BZinn1 12-29-2009 04:15 AM

when the big red fire trucks arrive your parents are gonna notice......heat gun,not torch.....lol

weezyfbayba 12-29-2009 04:59 AM

please dont... just.. dont... hammer and a flat head and work it off

wish my car woulda been boosted over night....

agencytc 12-29-2009 05:04 AM

my friend boosted his tc in one day lol bought all of the parts and just knocked it out in one day. but thats how we got my friends off torch lol a small one

gingles 12-29-2009 05:25 AM

i finished my car in one day...had three people though....but all i did was take my razor and cut in as much as i could....then took my putty scraper and hammered it at an angle to finish it off...make sure you get as much gasket as you can off the block and oil pan for a good seal

ecko04 12-29-2009 02:03 PM

Drain oil and remove oil filter
Drop all the bolts holding the oil pan and nuts from the studs.
Use a putty knife on the front of the oil pan closest to the front of the car, get in as far as you can, which means the entire putty knife should go through.
Pull out the dip stick
Use a small crow bar to get in and pry up....the entire oil pan pops off.

I've used that technique 3 times in the past 2 months, worked like a charm regardless of if I used copper rtv or the ultra black rtv.

I got the pry/crow bar from Lowes, cost about $5, it's the smallest type you can buy I would think.

Please don't use a torch or anything ridiculous like that.

agencytc 12-29-2009 05:43 PM

^ thanks man ill try it that way and ill let everyone know how it went

skinnayyy 12-29-2009 05:59 PM

although i don't know how many of the ways described are ninja like so that you could do them while someone is sleeping and not wake them up

ecko04 12-29-2009 07:02 PM

LOL I forgot about the ninja requirement but torching it wouldn't fall into that category

skinnayyy 12-29-2009 07:27 PM

i got a better ninja idea! just bolt the oilpan to the ground somehow... then jack the car up! and then when the car goes up the oil pan goes down!!!

agencytc 12-29-2009 10:51 PM

^ bwahahhahaha that should work haha but my house you cant hear ____ only the dog does and she barks for every single little thing

cburglb34 12-30-2009 01:35 AM

i got my car boosted in just 3 hours all on my own when u know what to do and how to do it it flys..

agencytc 12-30-2009 04:12 AM

werd lol thats fast

Prototype_xB 01-05-2010 11:33 AM

lots of razor blades, small hammer, and a ton of patience. That is all.

MillerRS1 01-18-2010 06:02 AM

It sounds like I should take this somewhere and get it done haha sounds like its time consuming.
