I try to get into Ptuning Every time i go to Northern VA if for nothing else than to chit chat with these guys. THEY KNOW THERE ISH! i had my car tuned there and my buddy with a Turbo'd xB had his old kit removed and new one installed there. they trouble shot sum issues with his box and got him fast as well. a GREAT buncha guys who dont take your money without providing u with more service than you'd expect. THEY ____ EXCELLENCE which is why they are the ONLY company/manufacturer/service provider whose sticker found its way on to my car. and i have 3 of them on it.
BTW the exhaust is the ish!
I LOVE PTUNING!!!!

good job guys! thanx for giving us scions another place to look for major mods!

I think you mean exhaust tip, since there is no muffler that's visible from the back of the car. We wanted a tip that was subtle yet unique in design, also an exhaust system that didn't scream "give me a ticket, i'm running a coffee can muffler." We went the extra mile with this exhaust system by having the muffler built to our spec from scratch, i.e. the muffler is not something you can buy anywhere, it's custom made, along with the exhaust system, and v-band connections.

Unfortunately, an exhaust tip design is like fashion, some people like it, some don't. We cannot satisfy everyone's taste, but our main objective with this exhaust system design was performance. If you want to pick and choose a different tip or mufffler from a catalog of over a dozen setup, i believe a company call turbo-mafia might have what you're looking for.

ptuning,
what is stopping those people that dislike the muffler tip but like the exhaust system itself from welding a new tip on? or how easily can the tip be changed?

Thank you for the positive feedback. i'm glad we were able to get your friend's car back on the road. I know he told us that it's been out of commission for over 6 months. Mike and I were going to give up on his car before we even started, after seeing the mess from the last turbokit install, along with the wiring mess in his center console and glove compartment. His car keep blowing a fuse for the ecu as soon as it turns over and idles for about a minute. We traced it back to a bad wiring tap to the fuse box for the electric oil pump used on the old kit. Fixing the wiring mess in the center console and fixing the head unit was not part of the install of the turbo kit, but we wanted to give him a car that he can drive away happy in.

There's a lot of performance parts for turbocharged tCs under development, so stay tune.

The way we designed the system, many things can easily be modified. If you wanted a different tip, you can easily weld on a new tip to your liking. The tips is positioned straight out, so there's no issue with clearancing the rear exhaust opening on the bumper. If you wanted to add an extra resonator or a cat, there's room for that as well. If you wanted to use our s-back but create your own 3" s-pipe that can be done easily. If you wanted to connect a 3" dowpipe from another turbokit to our s-pipe that can also be done. It's very modular in designed but off course you will need to have access to a mig or tig welder using SS mig wire or 308SS tig welding rod.

Originally, we were going to make the exhaust tip a bolt on tip, so that you can interchange different tips that we would offer, but it would just introduce more problem, since a thief can easily unbolted the tip--yes we've seen this happen before and the tip we use on our exhaust system is not cheap.

I live by a different philosophy you see. If I'm going to pay a crap load of money to change a part of a car that is stock, to a part with better performance, I don't want it to look like its still stock. Besides, I live in TN, we don't get pulled over just because you have an aftermarket exhaust.

exhausts are over rated. just take it off and let the car exhale.

The tip is the only thing that looks semi-stock. The exhaust note and the 3" tubing routed underneath the rear subframe is an indicator to other scion tc owner that the system is definitely not stock. Anyways, the tip is something minor that can be replace to suit each person's taste.

^^That's the answer I'm looking for. Would like a new exhaust, but run an Aeroturbine muffler.

Yeah! I spent a BUNCH of money on my exhaust cause it looks coooooolllll. The HP was the last thing on my mind. I wonder why OTHER companies didn't come out with this sooner.

Disclaimer---BUNCH of money is in no part or relation of actual money spent. coooooolllll is not an interperitation of what my final expression would be, could be...but will be! OTHER companies...i don't need a disclaimer for that

i bought the dezod exhuast because it looked "stockish" and here in hawaii cops just love to pull you over and give you tickets for noise violation, tint, no recon, safety check and what not.. so i see where ptunning is coming from. If i hadnt bought dezods exhaust im sure ptunning would be shipping me one.
