So, the stock studs have been on the car for 100k miles, and boosted for 20k. They have decided that now is the time they are going to break. So now i have 3 broken studs, 1 of which broke in a convienent enough manner that i could rethread another nut on. The other two are not. How would you (the people reading this thread) recommend me getting them off? I have tried vice grips, but all that did was mess up the threads rendering that one completely useless.
i have two that still have the hex thing available and i have a socket for those so as long as those don't strip i can take them out the easy way.
if all else fails, is it possible to just weld the manifold to the block? lol

double nut works great, my pref method if the top of the stud breaks off or does not have the hex end.
after that, vice grips. Never had to file down threads, they just work themselves in there. spray some GOOD penetrating lube, let them sit, go at it. If you have a heat source (torch) would greatly help

i had an idea of drilling a smaller hole inside the stud and tapping it with a left hand turn bit, then screwing in a left hand bolt and just keep going at it until eventually it comes out
i just did this a while ago. double nut works great. and when you put the new ones on, take a grinder or dremel with a cut off wheel and notch the top of the new stud just enough to get a screw driver in to insert the stud in the block. it will make everything 600 times easier to install the new ones without messing up the threads.

i got the dezod studs, so hopefully there won't be a next time lol the only reason i'm doing this is beacuse they keep breaking on me. I don't even think i have enough of a stud to do a double nut

a blow torch + deep creep(penetration spray) + double nut + 2 nuts (
) = all 5 studs are out!!!
apparently i did some good things this week because everything is going fairly smoothly today. (now that i said that everything is going to fall apart though)
