Spark Question For Turbo Setup

Hi guys,

I'm running a 16G Turbo with 440cc injectors pushing 7PSI

my car hiccups and sputters under partial throttle, afr's are fine usually under partial throttle,

i purchase some NGK v-power plugs 2 step colder copper tip

anyone know what the gap should be set at ?

here is the question ...

on your turbo setup, what spark plugs do you use and what do you have them gapped at ?

I use NGK BKR 7 EIX's
Iridium, pregapped already at around 0.34

If it hiccups and sputters under part throttle and not under full throttle than either you have a tuning issue or you are going in between closed loop and open loop and the transition has not been smoothed out.

I thought we were only supposed to use iridium plugs in our cars?

We are.
I'm using the same as guru except 2 steps, not 1, so they are the 8s, not the 7s.

You can use Copper or iridium plugs, either will work just fine. The gap has nothing to do with your partial throttle issues. You are running lean and your timing is advancing and retarding, that's why you feel the surging. Get a block box from Dezod or get a tune.

okay .. so im cool to leave the copper tip plugs in then right ?

i figured that much because before i had boost i was running bosch platinum tips.

Yeah...but he said his AFRs are fine.

Whate exactly are your AFRs at?

Mr_Meaty 03-12-2008 05:10 AM
