Supercharger Rebuilding Kits!

This rebuild kit will fit ANY YEAR tC supercharger. Auto or manual it doenst make a difference.
It will include the output shaft seal, 2 Output shaft, and finally 2 impeller bearings. These impeller bearings though are the tits. Period. They are speed rated in excess of 100k rpm (the stocker is good too 65k). They are ceramic balls so they weigh less which will allow you to spool quicker. The best part though is going to be the price. I can sell this whole kit for 260 dollars with shipping to you!!! Supercharger Rebuilds wants 600 dollars for the same thing, but with slower speed rated bearings. The other benefit to these bearings is their life-span, since the balls are ceramic they have a much much greater life span then traditional stainless balls aswell as the ability to operate at much higher temperatures safely (UPPED BOOST!) I will just sell the impeller bearing if thats all you need, PM me though on that on.

How to tell- You will have an oil leak coming out of the blower. It will be coming out where the horseshoe shaped piece is that’s held on with 3 allen bolts. The oil will also have leaked down the side of the blower and on to the header cover (if you have one still).

Pros-
Reliability
Superior Parts and Construction

Cons- Difficulty- You need a bearing press and to know what your doing and line everything back up.

Price
As far as pricing goes its as follows:
Great Rebuild- For a great rebuild kit its 257.50. That includes the 2 impeller bearings with ceramic balls, 2 out shaft bearings (OEM) and 1 double sided output shaft-seal
Epic Rebuild-For a Great rebuild + ceramic out put its 120 dollars extra(they are expensive because the balls are so big)
If you want me to install it its 470 dollars for the Great Rebuild. That 470 dollars includes the parts, labor, and return shipping on my part. It will be 2-3 day ground. Typically the turn around time is going to be 1 day.

The car will have a different sound when running. There is a much higher pitched whine and much reduced gear chatter due to tighter tolerances on the bearings. Included is a video of my car for the first start of the day. Ignore the squeaky belt though.

You said "Ceramic Balls"

I see your vid and have just one question :

The whine is more pronounced and higher pitched at idle (in the vid), but what about the sound from the s/c when the car is in motion? driving off & WOT?

Will the whining get even louder as you drive or does it gets muted as in previous operation (before the rebuild was done).

I remembered the whine and chatter from the s/c goes away as rpm builds up.

Good work and will contact you as soon as your observation on the above is stated.

The while will start to go away when driving. If you work the pedal correctly you can get it to whine to about 2800rpm or so. Ill try and make a video this week. It just sucks uploading to youtube, it takes forever.

Thanks KikC, you da man

Try to get a vid of (1) moving off (2) cruising at 60mph (3) accelerating to WOT.

This would be very helpful to us s/c owners.

Btw, the oil seals you offer, are they similar to the Timkens or better? I currently have Timkens #222540 but if yours are better designed to prevent oil leaks.... Why not? :silly:

kikcaffine 03-18-2008 03:30 AM

The ones I have are slightly better, they are made of a different material. Shoot for 2x the cost of the timkens they better be!

Just got the bearings in and I thought I'd post a couple of pics. The impeller bearings are ceramic.
